The thread for the old and the old at heart. My young bloke comes home from high school telling me that his year 8 mates are shaving their legs ?! WTF! Back in my day if you put mousse in your hair you were a poof and now young fellas are shaving their legs. Bloody hell. Harumph, harumph. Edited by MUNRUBENMUZ: 21/11/2014 10:06:45 AM

Tattoos on the neck, on a sheila no less. I realise it's all this inclusive, luvvy dovey, don't discriminate stuff but the neck? What ever happened to standards?

Me mum tells me that back in her day, there was no such thing as depression and the like. They just threw you in the loony bin. Climate change didn't exist either.
Take me back to the old days.

When i was in year 8 or 9 or so a few of my football teammates shaved their legs and said the pros did it and it was meant to be better for football somehow. So i did it too. And noticed sfa difference, so grew it back

Which may go some way into explaining why over the years she's drifted closer and closer towards becoming a lesbian, judging by her Facebook statuses I've seen

When I was a kid we lined up in a 5-3-2-1 formation. That's right, 5 at the front. Left wing, inside left, centre forward, inside right and right wing. And if you played left or right wing you were told to stay within a 1.0m corridor adjacent the sideline and look out if you wandered outside of that.

An old bloke the other day asked me what's ACTUALLY WRONG with not liking another race, and I legit couldn't give him an answer that wasn't a made up social construct

What ever happened to standards? In a former job, we used to have undercover cops come and get keys needed to access suspect vehicles. There's a reason they fit in so well when undercover, they looked exactly like the crims! Munrubenmuz wrote:When I was a kid we lined up in a 5-3-2-1 formation.

We played 4-3-3, as in 4 fowards, 3 mids, 3 'backs'. Heaven forbid if, as a back, you ever went over the half way line. I remember standing like a statue right on the line, and not a cm more.

Not too long ago, but i remember in 2006 my football coach drew on a whiteboard the formation we would be playing for the season, and seemingly for the future. It was 4231 (or 42121 if you prefer). This was in yhe age where you wouldn't be caught dead playing anything but 352, thanks to guus hiddink and co.
We all called him crazy, that it wouldn't work, and definitely wouldn't stick. Nowadays, it's basically the standard

At least that's what my hairy Dad said the doctor told him after he went for a long skin shredding slide off his bike.

Back in my day (that involving growing in England) - we were worried about Catholic terrorists blowing things up. It was a nicer, whiter, more Christian kind of terror... None of this crazy Islamic stuff.

My 18 year old son ( yes he has girl friend) regularly has mates over for the night and shares he's bed. He does have a spare mattress under hes bed for when there are a few
That just didn't happen in my day, from about 7 or 8 years old that was not on.

Back in my day...
We played sport in the street. Cars would look out for us because a half-taped up tennis ball could actually cause a dent in it.
After school tv involved the fresh prince, kevin arnold (and winnie cooper!), Mr Drummond (who was doing his bit to ease US inner-city race relations) and Mike and Melvin... "letter... letter... letter..." oh and who could forget SuperGran!
Finally if you wanted to know something you had to look it up in the Encyclopedia Britannica or as it was in our povo house the Funk and Wagnall's. Kids have it too easy nowadays...

That just didn't happen in my day, from about 7 or 8 years old that was not on. Are they staying over after a night out or an 18th? There's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing a mates bed after a night on the piss when you can't be bothered going back to your own place.
