I put this in the TV thread, but decided let's give it its own thread and see if everyone is keen on giving it a go.
A friend of mine is trying to persuade me to watch a TV series he loves. I asked him to provide me with the best youtube clip of less than 3 mins of that show, and I would judge whether I'd watch the show solely from that clip. He provided it to me, and gave me a spiel of how I'd need to know certain character traits etc, but nonetheless I made my judgement purely on the clip he gave me.
What I was thinking would be cool is we name what our favourite shows/movies are, and provide a < 3min youtube clip (let's say around 3mins, happy for it to be say 3:30 if it so happens) from that show which is your selling clip - the one you consider to be the best one, and that someone could watch and go "yep, I've gotta watch that show". It's surprisingly difficult! The shows/movies can be old or new - just your favourites over time. This might end up cool in that we will all decide to watch things we otherwise wouldn't have.
So yeah, give it a crack. List your favourite shows/movies and the link a clip that you think would persuade people to watch said show. Feel free to make your own 3min clip if you have the skills to. The clip can be 20seconds long if you think it does the show/movie justice. It can be a direct scene from the thing, or can be a montage of a single character. I think "Best bits of _____" is a bit much, so maybe steer clear of them.

Get cracking! All my favourite clips are on youporn. I am pretty sure I shouldn't post them here but they are worth checking out Edited by colin: 10/3/2015 11:28:13 AM

So fucking hard to find good clips for Justified that fit 3 minutes haha. Just know that you will never get the interaction between two characters like you get between Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder in any other show possibly ever. The writers and actors have done an amazing job over the past few years creating one of the best back and forth character pairings for dialogue ever. -PB

Anyone here an Arrested Development fan?
I've been trying to think of the clip that defines the show for me, but also is good enough to represent. My mind is saying a Gob highlights (whether just in general or his suits), Tobias saying weird things out of context, Carl Weathers, the Gob/Buster funeral illusion, or the chicken dance. And I can't decide

All the Breakfast scene clips are like 5 minutes long, so I'll have to post this gem. Anybody not seen Pulp Fiction? Anybody looking for a British piss take on every American action move ever made? Hot Fuzz is the movie for you!!!

Just kidding, the show fucking sucks. The Maco wrote: It was alright at the start, then Sorkin's insufferably left-wing bias crept into the show. I mean it's ok to have a political view, but that show got so holier-than-thou that I had to stop watching it.

Would recommend. Yep. Great show. It's one of those comedies that really rewards you watching from the start, always referencing jokes and events from earlier episodes. Edited by 99 Problems: 18/3/2015 11:45:37 PM
