I post on BigFooty fairly regularly and I'm yet to see it, they actually have a very good community of football supporters that is largely immune to the dickhead infestation (your paulc and batfink types) that we get here. I'm sure the HAL has been slagged off before when brought up but you don't get people who don't follow or hate the game going out of their way to trash talk or take the piss. The only trash talking of the A League that I've seen since posting on BF is from Eurosnobs tbh.



I honestly don't get the point of this bit? I mean I didn't say anything about O/S stature or perception of AFL, nor did I say anything about the domestic status of either code, it just seems a bit bizarre to me.

If wonder if the AFL will ever class Norfolk Island as a separate nation, much like they do at the Commonwealth Games.

Good publicity stunt by the AFL anyway RE: Catalonia, they should get a double header on the cards when Catalonia play their guest FIFA games every now and then…

You enjoy both games that is fine, there are others who only like football & there are those who only like AFL or RL.
I live in Sydney, AFL is not very big here, just a bit bigger the RL in Melbourne, but still way behind RL & football, it's not an issue.

In all honesty they weren't recognising Catalonia as a separate country, just a separate league and AFL Europe invited the champions of the Catalonia League. Similarly the West London Wildcats represented the London League and Manchester Mosquitos represented the England - Midlands/North-East League

I have always stayed away from expat pubs but occasionally expats crossed my path. A guy tried to recruit me to play twice, I had meet him before years earlier but he started exactly the same like a salesman. Maybe I should have played and taken Swedish citizenship. It's not every day you get to go to the footylympics.

I just think it's hilarious that on BigFooty, a site with 20 times the traffic of this place and populated entirely by AFL fans, there is literally zero discussion about this thing, no one gives a shit. The only people discussing it are a bunch of football fans sniggering about how pathetic the AFL is, surely you can see how petty and ridiculous that is?
