If I were the Mariners, I'd take a gamble on Ryan De Vries, grab a quick Asian attacker and then add some English lower league steal at the back.

I've got a friend that saw O'Donovan training on Monday night (he was training at an NPL club to keep his fitness/sharpness up) and he said he was at a level so far above anyone else in the league, including De Vries, that it'd be a major surprise if he didn't get picked up by an A-League club

I heard the management of former Irish international Stephen Hunt was talking to some A-League clubs with the Mariners being most interested in further discussions.

Thought the league was getting past the days of signing shithouse foreigners.
