Anyone who supports a team outside the country in which they live is going to get called a plastic fan at some point, especially if the team is successful. You know your support for them is genuine, and so do others. There will ALWAYS be idiots in AF who hate anyone that supports a team outside Australia, but they're in the (very loud) minority.

As for the "Man U" thing, there's nothing wrong with letting people know, but don't be too dismayed if they decide to be dicks about it.

This is only the country where ive heard the, 'if you not from there you cant support them' argument.

Anyone who supports a team that's actually won something in this country is 'plastic'. Except sydney fans. Their fandom is like, totally legit.

Happens in New Zealand too, and I'm willing to bet it's the same for a lot of other places.
