It would be too expensive to have to fly that many teams around the country. I think a fully random draw may come in a few years, then maybe a Rof44 next (National Round 8, then A-League in Round 9). I can't see R64 coming in for at least a decade. But by then we will probably have more teams in the A-league and/or maybe even a national 2nd Div.

By then the MA teams vastly outnumber AL teams to the point its lost all meaning or value to be the last remaining teams.

Essentially add the A-League clubs to their relevant State qualification process at the last round. Issue with that is it gives you the biggest games of the comp very early. E.g. South vs Victory in Round of 64. I like your suggestion of National Round of 44, followed by A-League clubs in next round. But with a completely random draw.

Scheduling becomes an issue for Rd of 64 to work. A-league/FIFA registration windows aren't open when the Rd of 64 would need to start. The whole competition structure and scheduling would need to change. If you push it back so that the QF, SF and Final are later then the NPL sides are months out of competition.

Bit annoyed that Brisbane City vs Redlands is tomorrow night when the Vuk are playing. Will go to Southside Eagles vs Strikers though in Bulimba. They are so close together that it would be a proper derby if not for the stupid river. Get a feed in oxford street and then stroll down to the Memorial Park.

Haha, yeah I see the matches are there now. I'm used to using Fotmob which shows them about 4 days in advance :p Should be a good night though. I've got the notifications on while I watch Victory.

Quote:Avondale FC 7 mins · Scenes here in Bulleen. Were going to Penalties!!! We conceeded a Penalty with 5 mins to play and then scored the Equaliser from the last kick of the game as Yitay Towns fired home off a Spase Dilevski Corner. 1-1 and all square after 120 mins #BLvAFC #MagicOfTheCup

Cant be stressed enough how devastating cup exits can be when its the only source of genuine exposure lowel level clubs can get. Heidelberg must feel like their season ended tonight after the run they had in last years cup.

What did I tell you? All games had live score updates on Futbol24 except for the Narrabundah Canberra game. Pretty bloody decent if you asked me.

Lions vs Strikers (not confirmed but highly likely) is a bit ordinary. Would have liked to see both go through. Rochdale and Redlands both just a bit shit really.

Rochdale and Redlands both just a bit shit really. I used to go drinking as Rovers when I was 18 so personally I am hoping for them for a home game against an NPL side as I would probably bump into people I havent seen for 20 years from high school. But I can understand why its not attractive to others.
