That's 3 in a row for Heat. Pretty damn good. So them, Strikers, Sydney United and Blacktown have made it 3 so far.

Is there an approximate division for Surfers? Eg, are they considered 3rd or 4th division?

Im pretty sure they are 3rd division. One below the NPL (as their manager stated they had a few ex NPL players).

FNQ have probably the easiest run into the cup in Australia, as Fury have been in a bad place recently. The other regions dont offer much at all. Although scoring 2 goals away for Frenchville is a good effort. Considering they lost 7-1 in Rockhampton last year to Heat.

Hopefully this year we'll get to see one of the NPL teams knock out an A-League team again. There's nothing more satisfying.

I guess there is a greater chance now all A-League teams can be one of the 4 teams to play lower levels instead of just the semi finalists.

I hope FNQ get a home game and Brisbane Roar. Also if the Alice Spring team qualifies Id like to see them get a home game, but if it is the Darwin team I would like them to travel.

However the draw goes, I'm hoping for good crowds and good ticket revenue for the hosts. The Heidelberg crowd was amazing. South V Victory would be amazing (pending they qualify in a few days).

I think FFA would've learnt a lot from last year's fiascos.

I'm still of the opinion that I would like a potential first home cup game for SM not be MV or MC. To be able to see what they can go crowd wise.

I think they play Gold Coast Premier League which is considered the same as Brisbane Premier League. So technically theyd be level 3.

Qld need to get a second division NPL going and combine the BPL and GCPL

I reckon it needs to include sunshine coast too and then go into their respective regional leagues. From the results of this cup it shows the NPLQ weaknesses.

I fear if Queensland had 2 or 3 NPL divisions, we'd never see Northern Fury play top flight state league again. :( :cry:

I'm sure they can make a comeback. So many teams get relegated and then get promoted again the next year or so.

Besides, if Fury can't handle NPL1 at the moment, it might do them well to take a break and rebuild in NPL2.

I think NPLQ is fine. Fury arent as bad as SWQ used to be. The only change I would like to see is a 2nd GC team (based around Southport as previously proposed if possible) and a team in Logan.

1 bad season doesnt kill a team.

No surprises that Heat made it, they're a quality team.
