Here’s a rumour for everyone.
I was talking to a guy over the weekend who does some Melbourne based scouting for someone he knows in Germany. He was involved in Robbie Kruse’s move to Dusseldorf. Anyway he was saying that he had been asked to create a report and keep an eye on Thomas Deng for them. I asked him what club it was, but he didn’t know specifically.

Shouldn't be a big surprise, kid has a huge future ahead of him, at this rate.

Very interesting like Gersbach both are great talents.

Deng is quality and still so young. Big future for him.

The more the standard increases in the a league and the more young players get game time like gersbach and deng the better they will be before there move to Europe.

Am I crazy for thinking hes getting way ahead of himself here? I mean, he looked fine, but wouldnt say he put in a commanding performance in any of his games so far. Would have him behind Aspro, Donks, Chapman and Geria in the young CB ranks in the A League already. Even Lachlan Jackson has shown more imo.

What makes you say Deng is getting ahead of himself? He's made no comment that could make anyone think that.

If it's true that scouts are keeping tabs on him then that just seems like business as usual, surely.

In a way Ansell's injury has given the guy a chance to shine.

Hopefully he gets a bit more opportunities soon.
