So im looking at ending foxtel, its just really hard to justify the price at the moment, I was hoping some people in here could help with alternatives.
At the moment im thinking apple tv+netflix+stan+a really good PVR recorder. One other thing ive been reading about is Fetch TV.
The main things I watch are history docos, and shows like game of thrones, black sails and ofc sport(A-league)
SBS has some history stuff, FTA has most sport although all A-league games will be a big loss and ABC news for BBC world news.
Are there any boxes that i can get like foxtel, where i can set reminders/record like foxtel?
Thanks.

Interested to see what foxtel does now they lost the premier league. A few subscriptions will be cancelled.

I'd like to know this too. The TV market looks like fragmenting pretty quickly if each telco releases their own version with shows only available on those platforms.
I heard Netflix is a bit crap now with the US filter.
Might end up with Fetch + a sports provider like BeIN, but don't really know what is out there. Would like to keep it to good TV shows, sport and kids without going over any data limits

We are moving hopefully before Christmas to a house with opticomm, i don't know anything about it but atm we pay $144 for 250gb of internet plus foxtel with sport docos and all those lifestyle channels. We use able 10% of the Internet a month and i want to be able to see a-league, epl, docos and the missus wants her lifestyle stuff (the stuff that isn't 15 years old like on the fta channels) extra football would be a bonus. What are our options, we had netflix and didn't really enjoy it, we also don't get sucked into those game of thrones shows. any help would be awesome!

Is Euro 2016 on Bein? Nothing has been confirmed from either them or UEFA.

Was thinking about getting BeIN, is there anything I should know before I get it? Should I go for the year deal and save myself $20 or just roll over month to month?

So we rang up to cancel Foxtel today, they offered to lower the price down from $117 to $53+ an IQ3 box+installation. So we've accepted that for now.
If you're looking for a first time pay tv service or you can't get the price lowered then I'd go with Fetch TV for sure.
You buy the set top box for $400, which has a 1$ dollar activation fee, this basically turns it into an Apple TV which allows you to buy/rent movies and buy TV shows. It gives access to Netflix, Stan(separate subscriptions) and Youtube. You can then record all FTA channels as well as live rewind/pause etc. Plus it gives you access to Catch Up TV.
Then for a further $15 per month you get 25 other channels. There's also an option for BEIN Sports.
