I enjoy watching football at NPL better than A-League games. I'd rather watch exciting young Aussies than Marquee players. Mat Ryan isn't that great.

Melbourne City still dont have their branding right. The home kit is too plain. I know they will eventually go with an all sky blue kit but I think last years palace away kit would look good. Also they can challenge NJ for the use of the most colours over the years. They would still be far behind though.

Damo DB has stated that having youth at professional clubs is what the FFA sees as the best thing for youth development. Having a second division would certainly increase the number of professional clubs. I would not however like to see a situation where, if such a league occurred, clubs were forced to play youth players. Clubs should have the same rules as the A-League and up to 5 visa players.

I struggle to see enough players :) I agree - which makes me come to my unpopular opinion that we could look at more NZ teams to make the numbers ( worth asking the question anyways ) I also.. find the EPL boring as bat poo Believe Getting rid of NQ FURY was stupid - should of added WSW & either one of Wollongong/Geelong instead of getting rid of them to make way. Believe Darwin/NT must have it's own team Understand why ( even if it's misguided )FFA has risistance towards "traditional or ethnic teams' & the NCIP... the in house politics almost ruined last time & they are scared to happen again (fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me concept.) not that I feel that way also mind you... We need a 2nd division, we can live without P&R FInals series are good things Premiership & Championship mean as much as each other Eurosnobs are holding our game back not making things better. A solution would be to increase the amount of visa players to 6. This would be unpopular with the pfa.

We need to stop obsessing over finding "the next Viduka", target men are becoming a thing of the past in the modern game. I'd be much more excited if we found the next Harry Kewell.
For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby

Mat Ryan isn't that great a shot stopper.
We would absolutely froth Steve Corica if he appeared on the scene now.

That fully funded sticker idea may not have been a bad idea. Could have been better for the Aleague than anything de Bonehead ever thought up.

The Premier's Plate is seen as insignificant by many simply because it is. It is little more than a Frankenstein's monster of a league season designed to fill out as many fixtures before going to Finals Series. Until such a day that we actually have a proper home and away season, that is something that isn't simply part of Australian sporting culture, but makes perfect sense in and of itself. To that end, a 15-16 team competition would be ideal.

upsets in football are less common than other codes undermining the justification for having a different way of determining the league winner than other codes

Perhaps in the beginning of the league more emphasis was needed for the GF. Today it is just a missed opportunity. The league and the finals should be viewed as 2 comps. The league is the league and an important title but also functions as a qualifier for the finals. The GF will always be the most important but clubs should strive to finish first not just make the top 6. I heard a butthurt McKay saying no one remembers the premiers..... I bet he and you will remember not winning it this season. You blew it. Deal with it.

One thing i would like to see is like the south american two season league. two sets of home away seasons, the top two of the table overall plus the top two of each "season" go into to the final series. Specially when pro rel looks a long way off. But i am always a final series kind of guy. Consistency one thing, but stepping up for the big games it where it matters when you are forced to play against top teams to win. Very really we see what we saw last weekend, actually we never have. Most of the time the top are already decided 7 games to go and It is like player, being consistently good is one thing, but also stepping up for the big game separates the good players from the greats. To me it an aussie tradition the NSL has been doing it for ages. i think japan went back to final series just recently. I wouldn't really say butthurt with McKay comments, no one remembers CCM winning the premiership when we went back to back. all we remember is the roar winning the final and ccm trying to make up for the GF losses with putting stars on their shirt for the plate. It wasn't until the year after when CCM won the grand final where they consider champions and those premierships meant insignificant to that one toilet seat.

I continue to think it is a missed opportunity. I would suggest to the FFA that they have for example Hyandai A-League and have a separate sponsor eg. Coca-Cola Finals/Championship (or one if one sponsor was willing to pay). They are 2 different series. At the end of the day it is a trophy and should be respected.
