I am pretty sure that is why they were over in Lebanon in the first place. The father took his children back to Lebanon without the mother's consent. Happens often within Australia but the Family Court and police can handle the matter. Not so easy when you are dealing with cases outside of Australia.

I am not sure what the laws are like in Lebanon regarding child custody (from other similar stories I've seen and heard the father tends to have most the rights in Middle Eastern nations).

The mother gave consent for the children to return to Lebanon for a holiday. To compare that to a snatch and grab in the middle of the street is ridiculous. Stop talking nonsense.

That's what you get when you try to make a grab @ ratings with a story/actions like this. To attempt it in a country like Lebanon too is just daft.

Supposedly the wife had tried to take the kids away previously without notifying the father as well.

Two sides to every story.

I am sorry the mother gave consent for the father to take the children on a holiday ... The mother should of simply asked the father if she could take the children on holiday with her to Australia, I am sure he would have agreed, because after all he obviously has the children's best interest at heart.

I am assuming you obviously have no children Prosecutor.

Are the children Lebanese or Australian?? Wouldn't that determine whose "rules" are to be applied to in regards to child custody?

The question has to be asked did the father do the right thing by the children though?? He could have done legally right by the children and mother by going through family court in Australia if he wanted sole custody. The question has to be asked though why he didn't go through the family court in Australia??

I don't agree with her methods, but I don't agree with his either ... do two wrongs make a right??

No one has stopped to ask whether the kids are happier with their dad or not- after stunts like this, I'd guess they are.

The kids don't get to choose. No one has the right to separate their kids from mother or father, or kidnap children under the guise they're being taken on a holiday. The father is a dog and using a primitive gender biased legal system to derive custody of the children.

The mother is guilty of being naive and trusting, which is hardly a crime and anyone with morsel of compassion would sympathise with why she did it. The execution of the kidnap though was bizarre. Guns, assault, Hezbollah, etc , wtf?

As oppossed to the Australian system that always sides with the mother?

So it's ok for him to be deprived custody? Maybe, just maybe he loves his kids as much as the mother and wants to see them too?

The other issue is that we only know the mother's side of the story. Who knows whether that story (only agreed for children to go over as a holiday) is actually true.

Until the full story comes out, including the father's side, we really have no idea.

Supposedly she had taken the kids without consulting him before when back in Australia.

That and he's pretty loaded and has a good family network back home @ Lebanon.

Very much two sides to the story.

Hope they get absolutely fisted by a Lebanese court.

The mother sounds like a piece of shit as well. Media Watch reported that kids were raised in Lebanon and that she was the first to snatch them and cut up there passports and then sat on her arse on welfare and had another kid with some other bloke. Meanwhile the father has a decent business in Beirut and was determined to return there so he could actually support the kids because he couldn't get work in Australia.

Happy to see this go towards the father.
