Just cross over for the goals. No red button.

Otherwise, if the main game finishes, and one of the others is still going (Eg, Extra Time/Penalties), they'll start showing that one instead.

And yes, I'm especially keen for this one too.

IIRC, it's the first time Wolves have taken on one of the bigger A-League clubs (apart from Mariners) in a proper comp.

Hopefully there'll be a big turnout and a good atmosphere. And with any luck, by the end of the decade this will become a regular A-League fixture.

International Champions Cup to upstage Hume City’s first FFA Cup clash

Matt Windley, Herald Sun
July 5, 2016 1:13pm

HUME City became quite comfortable with its place on the big stage during its run to the FFA Cup semi-finals last year.

But for the Victorian side’s first encounter of the 2016 tournament it is going to have to fight for airtime with some of world football’s biggest stars.

It was announced that Hume will take on an old great of the Australian game, the Marconi Stallions, at its ABD Stadium home ground on Wednesday, July 27.

But the problem for Hume making the most of its time in the national spotlight is the fact that the International Champions Cup is being played at the MCG in the same week.

Tottenham plays Juventus the night before the FFA Cup kick-off, while Spurs then take on Atletico Madrid on the Friday night.

Hume City made last year’s FFA Cup semi-finals.
The match, at least, will be the live broadcast game on Fox Sports.

Also confirmed yesterday was Green Gully’s ability to host its eagerly-anticipated clash with A-League side Central Coast at Green Gully Reserve in Keilor Downs.

There was doubt as to whether or not the local side’s ground was fit to host a match of that magnitude.

But Fox has given the ground its tick of approval, with that game to be broadcast live on Tuesday, August 2.

That night will be a big one for Victorian clubs with Bentleigh Greens also travelling to Adelaide to play MetroStars and Melbourne City taking on Floreat Athena in Perth.

Victory starts its Cup defence away to Newcastle on Wednesday August 3, while Melbourne Knights’ home clash with Cockburn City has been slated for August 10.

Forgot about that. The broadcasting schedules won't conflict at least.

But even if they did, I'd still watch Hume over the 3 European clubs. I can watch those guys play any time for 9 months of the year.

Right.

Finally gotten around to making sure the OP is 100% up to date and correct. All matches, times, match-days and broadcast details are now available in the OP. Fairly sure I've gotten the time difference right. For AEST, South Australia & Northern Territory are 30 minutes behind, and Western Australia is 2 hours behind?

Having had a look at some of the grounds that some clubs are going to be playing the capacity looks a little small. Not sure if going off Wikipedia is the greatest thing as some of the grounds capacities barely have enough room to swing a cat.

Take North Eastern MetroStars for example. They're playing their game at Elite Systems Football Centre. Wikipedia claims that the capacity is 200. Now you'd think that 200 is way too small a capacity, even for a game against Bentleigh, which one hopes will drum up some decent neutral interest. Granted, the smallest PAX last cup was 350, between Sydney United & South Hobart, which to be honest was an appalling turn out, but one would hope with only 1 South Australian home game in the Ro32 that there'd be a decent turnout against what is one of the biggest Victorian state league teams.

Now that I've typed all that out, I've just looked at NEMS' home game in the Ro16 last year against Oakleigh, and they did actually pull 1,200 - so obviously the grounds capacity is much larger.

Valley Road in Devonport is another which is rather small, only catering for around 1,200 people. With the right publicity surely they could pull more.

Interesting that Brisbane are playing Adelaide United at Ballymore. Will definitely be interesting to see what sort of crowd that pulls given the negativity around Ballymore as both a stadium and its location.

No surprise to see Green Gully have the shortest odds of any state team to get up over an A-League team, will be putting a cheeky tenner on that.

I thought it pissed down in their 2015 home tie against FNQ Heat. IIRC it was dry for the Hobart game. :?

Would have thought SU fans would have turned out for the team they played against in the inagural NPL Grand Final.

Wasnt it pissing down at that game though and it was freezing. It looked as if the stadium also had no coverage whatsoever.

I thought it pissed down in their 2015 home tie against FNQ Heat. IIRC it was dry for the Hobart game. :?

Would have thought SU fans would have turned out for the team they played against in the inagural NPL Grand Final.

Mate, Hobart is the second driest Aussie capital city after Adelaide.

Hobart Airport, a 20 minute drive east of the city, is drier than Adelaide.

Yep, was borderline torrential rain and an artificial surface lol.

I know you hate us westerners but it would be nice if we were included in the fixture lol.
You have Brisbane vs Adelaide United I think when Adelaide play Redlands from memory.

Was just about to ask why Perth Glory don't have any matches but Adelaide United have 2 games in the first round...

Ahem,

David Gallop neglected to mention that there's a new rule in the Cup, the winners of the previous competition must play, er, twice in the opening, um, round of 32 to make it, uh, more challenging and ah, like, umm, y'know better for the littler teams to maybe get a sneaky win in. This time around they er, gotta play in Brisbane twice.

No? Not convincing enough.

I'll get right onto changing that little error.

Whole game is on Youtube =d> \:d/

If it weren't an artificial surface, game would have surely been washed out. IIRC it poured for that whole week in Sydney. It was something out of the Noah's Ark chapter of the bible.

Tickets have started being sold online for most games now. A lot of sales through Ticketmaster. Your usual bullshit 'print at home fees' apply.

Newcastle Jets v Melbourne Victory - Starting from $10.17
Wollongong Wolves v Sydney FC - Starting from $18.30
Wellington Phoenix v Western Sydney - Starting from TBA
