huge potential. hard working box to box midfielder. one of those young guys that other players always say impressed them on the training ground. seems like an intelligent player. seems to have a really good game sense and positioning. pops up in key areas. has a good passing range and gets stuck into defence. despite having an attacking style of game he can mark people right out of a game.

he had a great season last year.

This could be a key reason why United signed Jesse Maka to replace Mauk.

Still will be a great piece of business if United can get a good deal out of this.

Agree with everything said there and in addition he makes good runs into the box and can score goals.
He started last season at Melbourne City where he played a bit but then was a mid season transfer as part of player swap to Adelaide United. He became a vital part in the midfield of the team that won the A-league.
His play lead to him being included in the Australian squad that played England before the Euros although he did not get any game time.

To echo the above, he is a good player who had a breakout season last year as a key contributor in midfield for the league champions. Good work rate, game sense and passing range, more of an attacking-minded midfielder than a defensive one. Decent technique and touch. I would say his weaknesses are physicality and perhaps consistency, I feel like he drifts out of games occasionally. He is only 20 though and seems quite strong mentally so it's more that he's a fairly raw player. Good potential but not the finished product yet.

I find Mauk incredibly overrated and feel like his athleticism does most of his work for him. I don't find him that fantastic a footballer tbh. But in saying that, I can't argue against the terrificly (sp? word?) prosperous (far out, I'm heading out of my depth with these words!) year he just had.

What we have seen with Brillante and soon with Antonis coming back home i wonder how long with Stefan Mauk will last in Holland?

i think brillante and antonis could have made it in the right club. they both had shit luck. one had a club melt down and the other a country melt down.

They both had bad advise and poor guideance Antonis for me studying him was prefect for Holland or Bulgium.
