The guy who played for Sydney FC that played for Galatassaray and spent many years in Turkish Liga .
His name escapes me but I'm surprised he didn't get a real look into the Socceroos setup around 98

Lou Hristodoulou had a pretty good career at Panathinaikos, him and Kalantzis played in Greece at the same time. Both very well regarded.

John Kosmina had a very short career at Arsenal, 1 sub appearance I think before they sent him packing.

Paul Trimboli went for a trial at Rangers of all clubs back in the 90's. Not the wisest choice there.

Oscar Crino went over to Anorthosis in Cyprus to test the waters with a view to joining a big Greek club. Didn't work out.

Something a bit different but I remember Footscray JUST bringing out a player called Vlado Stosic in the mid 80's. He played here for 1 or 2 seasons before going back to join Red Star and being part of their European Cup winners team.

And your point on Trimboli is ?

He actually scored in one of his two games there, although he was behind Hateley, McCoist and Mojo if he had been signed.
