Am I the only one who finds it annoying how American elections are always divided up by race, religion, sex etc, who has the white vote, the black vote, the woman vote, the christian vote, the hispanic vote etc.

Edited by 433: 24/7/2016 10:20:35 PM Is that similar to how the Republicans have brought in Voter ID laws across the south to make it harder for the poor and largely black population to vote? This despite there being little to no evidence of people trying to vote multiple times.

And also, they have generally low voter turnout than other western countries - so it becomes more relevant. Americans don't have a "class identity" like in countries like the UK. It's nothing new, its always been this way in the US. It doesn't come up in Australia, partly because we have compulsory voting, so the voting electorate is representative of the country as a whole. You don't have to "get out the vote" of your potential supporters.

If Sanders had any balls he'd retract his endorsement given his treatment at the hands of the clearly biased DNC.

Of course the libs never told an outright lie intentionally to deceive voters, trap them in their fear and ignorance and make it the focal point of their election pitch. This was groundbreaking stuff from a desperate opposition who sold their souls to the devil, and they still lost! The mediscare lie is akin to telling voters Labor wants to privatise borders to people smugglers or sell Tasmania to the Chinese. Now no lie will ever be off limits as they will be able to point to mediscare as the benchmark in deceitful grubby scare campaigns.

You are accusing the Democrats of wanting to bring in a "mass amnesty and immigration because they overwhelmingly vote Dem". I am saying the Republicans bring in Voter ID laws to minimise the votes of the black and poor, because they vote overwhelmingly democrat. My point being that you can read these types of things in cynical ways if you want - both parties.
