Interesting press conference whereby amongst other reasons he stated that his daughter has been copping all sorts of abuse since his appointment. Just charming.
Whingers and haters 1 - justice system 0 Because his daughter worked for the previous governments Attorney General, surely she must have been the one torturing these children....... Until we have an indigenous judge, the bleeding hearts will continue their feral purge. Do you have any understanding of conflict of interest? It doesn't mean the person has to have done anything wrong. No one has said that. Its standard practice to recuse oneself where a potential conflict of interest exists. I would have thought a direct family member having worked for a govt dept which will likely be directly implicated in some of the Royal Commission proceedings, would easily qualify as a conflict of interest to take into account. Its not about bleeding hearts. Its about ensuring an impartial investigation takes place. That's true. My comment was more about the abuse that she was copping because he got appointed. All these, I'm assuming, hand-wringers, slagging her off because he was appointed. Argue the appointment if you want to but why she had to cop it I don't know. Absolutely agree - there is no suggestion of wrong doing by anyone. Any abuse of her (or him for that matter) is ridiculous. He has actually been very ethical and selfless in stepping aside straight away. I would file those people abusing her as "trolling d1ckheads" rather than any being rational actors. But why even accept it if there is a conflict of interest in the first place? Seems odd. I have similar issues at work and as soon a 'X' company sends us something we can't even read it. We ring them and explain that there is a conflict.
