Griffiths is training with Perth atm to maintain fitness. Wander what his plans are. If he's not with a club atm he might end up signing with another a-league club. Or has he be signed by another club? Can't remember hearing anything since he left Roda.

Let him train with them. If he was maintaining fitness, why would he have a numbered training strip??????? Was he on the plane to the Philippines? Imagine the MF if he signed for Glory. They'd be no teams getting the ball into Glory's defence with him and Williams in front of the uber back 4 Glory have. They still need a classy import midfielder though. Edited by hotrod: 16/7/2016 04:27:37 PM I don't think they have left yet. Leave on Monday I think. Just because he's training with Glory now doesn't mean he won't sign with another club later. The caption with the photo on the site said something about just maintaining fitness in the off season. I don't think we can fit him in. Don't need another DM. If we sign him the formation would have to change. But yeah we will end up with one of Griffiths, Williams or Herd on the bench. Then either Keogh or Taggart would have to be benched to allow for a formation with two DMs screening defense. With Dino on the bench as well. So much defensive stock. Just that VISA AM would be nice.

Mills, Herd and Castro aren't yet training and won't be going to Phillipines tomorrow. Everyone else I think is in the squad leaving tomorrow.

What's with the kit for the recent game?? Looks like a training kit. Looked a big crowd was around to watch the game ... not sure if they're going to spread their brand too much over there (especially with 0-0 results). Wouldn't wearing their purple strip at least provide a bit more marketing and brand awareness??

Been out of the loop with Glory youths lately so can anyone tell me if there are attack minded Glory youths possibly capable of making the step up to the senior squad this year? Watching the Victory vs Juve game and seeing those Vic youngsters doing well got me thinking.

Anyone know if we have an accounting marquee on the books? Keogh? With Herd gone and potentially a marquee spot and all the allowances for local/loyatly we should have a decent chunk of cap left.

The only loyalty player we have is Risdon. Last year we had Warren under the mature age rookie clause, probably using Nick Feely for it this season. Griffiths will be taking up the cap space allocated for Herd and we will be using Castro and Keogh as our marquees I reckon. Not much room for a high class #10 as it would mean moving Keogh under the cap.

They could use the "Melbourne City Wants Tim Cahill and the FFA Will Kindly Oblige Super Dooper One Season Guest Marquee" though. Edited by hotrod: 28/7/2016 01:28:52 PM

The link in the club index sticky is broken I think. Anyone else getting that?
Is Castro in Australia yet? Is he going to be playing in the FFA Cup against Brisbane? Vaguely remember something about him coming in August. Makes me worried about his availability/fitness for the BR game. Which makes me worried about the BR in general.

Also something about the 3 logo from southerner's avatar urks me as the picture beside the supporter thread. Is there a way to make supporter threads have club crests beside them?

Castro and Smiljanic aren't even in the country yet and the games are on 23/24 and 30/31 August. There is no chance that they will be playing. Not sure about Mills but Taggart should be right.

Djulbic is a tremendous threat from set pieces. Glory look like they have two very good, but different ways to score.

Yeh I doubt Castro because he arrives late August. But Smiljanic arrives next week. Dont think it's inconcievable he would be at least on the bench. There's been no mention of Mills by the club. Thought he would have arrived already.

+x+xWoohoo ... Cahill to play against Glory at Perth Oval .... um, Round 27. Perth Oval is NIB right? Yes, sorry. Showing my East Perth age, but it's been Perth Oval for over 100 years and that's what it'll always stay for me no matter who plonks their advertising on it. Same with Subi Oval, don't actually even know what it's supposed to be called now. Same goes for all the other foody grounds, Lathlain, Bassendean, Leederville, etc, I've no idea what names are what and where now.
