Not long after completing his $3.5 million dollar move to Melbourne City, I understand Tim Cahill might be rocking the boat. I'm hearing from inside the City camp that our Tim has become somewhat of the coach. Cahill, who signed a two-year playing deal, which includes a coaching pathway offered to him in year three has already started addressing the players at the club, perhaps being a bit over zealous with the whole coaching thing. Some players are secretly referring to him as 'Coach Cahill' and are possibly getting mixed messages as to who is the real boss. http://www.sportingnews.com/au/football/list/secret-agent-cahill-causing-ripples/d6s8aa46xi0z1cv8odhttsqri/slide/1

Meh.
Does this say something about Tim or the manager?

Oh dear, I wouldn't be surprised. JVS has a pretty weak personality and all this frothing really tips the power balance towards Cahill which can only be bad for the club.
Any one else think Cahill would make a rubbish coach anyway? He seems like a great motivator and a good leader, but he isn't the most intelligent person and doesn't have the smarts or the self reflection to manage difficult individuals. He's skills in soccer were always basically doing his best, playing hard and scoring goals, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't the best strategist/tactician.

So they sign him for a 3 year deal that includes a coaching pathway for one year and he gets slammed for trying to input his thoughts as a coach. Dat logic. Not surprised really, JVS is a fraud and a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man would do better than him.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me. Won't surprise me if there's a few bust ups with Cahill involving both players and coaching staff this season. Cahill's going to get fed up with the quality of service he's given and JvS uselessness very quickly I feel.

Gay fish - just listened to him speak on a number of occasions and come to a few conclusions. Don't see the problem. It's not exactly scathing of his character to say he won't be a good coach, the Vast Maloryity of players aren't. I still think he's a good bloke, and a motivation/inspirational figure.

Could only be a good thing for the club... eventually. Cos you know if it comes down to a coach/manager stand off, there's no way they're backing JVS over Ca$hill

3rd slide in article still says Lowe and Galloway are trying to organise a release from MV. Not sure if he moved home would give him a starting position so not sure why hed wanna move. But would be good. Prefer Mills and Galloway than Mills and Warren
