76k on SBS2, 104k on Fox for last night.

Laughing at SBS2 being outrated by a pay TV program again but only 25 more weeks to go before we get on a proper network, eh?

That FOX rating is really positive as well.

Honestly SBS kill it for themselves. The production looks cheap and the commentary team is woeful, even though that was probably one of their better nights. Can see why people would be switching to fox/ another channel.
Maybe something will change when SBS 2 becomes Viceland in november

I find unbelievable that a fta network is out rated every week by a pay tv channel.  I'mnot suggesting we will get 500k on a proper fta network, but it should really be 3 times more on a fta network.
I would think anyone looking at bidding for the A League fta coverage is not even looking at sbs, as they are a joke. I think ffa would be better off scraping sbs now & give 7, 9 or 10 a free look for the remainder of the season and sbs can back to Adam and eve.

SBS match commentators are not even calling the game at the stadium anymore. In the studio at Artarmon. They just dont care anymore.

I think SBS has given up. A shame really. As bad as the coverage is, At least it us a Freet to air game.

Again if I had to choose between 7, 9 ir 10 for that one A-league game, i choose 9

For real? That's fucking hilarious. After being so important to football in this country for years they piss on the national competition like that?

Yep. Im almost certain of it. Bash mentioned during commentary last night that he 'will go down to Lucy on the sideline down at Adelaide'. Someone even mentioned on Twitter that its started sometime last season.

SBS commentary is a joke. The whole football hierachy there lives in a bubble lost in the seventies. They tried once to connect to the modern world with their cringeworthy Thursday FC.But now they have given up and act as though entertainment is beneath them.
You would find less stiffs in the morgue
From progressive to pitiful.
Do they have any accountability? They must have interesting production meetings...Beaten again by Foxtel..well done lads....lets give em more of the same sh.t....as last year....see if we can get any worse......oh it's great to be a public broadcaster .......it can't be our fault because people know how to find channels...and it doesn't matter what channel football is on...the result will be the same......it's just that HAL football is hopeless.....it's not our fault....

I guess we'll all find out the impact of Tim Cahill in the TV viewing figures in the morning.
I'm tipping a higher TV audience than the Sydney derby.

I would think that is the highest ever rating for a Melbourne Derby, the derby has never rated well, usually under 100k. I'm happy with the 5 30pm kick rating, that has always been a low rating game.

Overall it is an excellent start & with Timmy scoring a worldy, that can only help the hype around the league.

We must be doing reasonably well, given mister football hasn't posted here in a while.

SBS has given up with a league a few times I've watched their sport coverage on the news and they make football their 3 or 4th story after nrl afl and whatever very sad

But guys, if it was on 7, 9 or 10 that friday game would have rated 76k as well... you know because the channel, the production and quality makes no difference...

Yeah nah we dont need to move stations we already have fta and it would make no difference if we went elsewhere.

Thats a great rating for the melb derby when u compare to previous years. Shows what real marquees do for you.

Like i said a few weeks ago, the test to prove that ratings go up with the "gimmicky" guest marquee is looking at all of citys games and then comparing to previous years. Seems like we're off to a solid start.

Thanks for the chart.  Its good to have recovered after last season's poor start.  The task now is to grow the number of viewers.
