For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby

O-LYM-PIC
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Wish they'd stop talking up the Olympic keeper. Yeah, I get it, he's fat and scores penalties. So fucking what?

Credit to Canberra. Best team we've played this season so far. Hope they get a goal here.

This mean Sydney host the FA cup since they finished lower than both Victory and City last season?

Surely theres got to be a transparent system to who gets it? Say winner of the first semi- final or winner of the all A-League semi or just general rotations between Sydney and Melbourne

How is that for a Wednesday night, in Tuggeranong, with no advertising and a widely disliked home team playing?

Canberra Olympic take a bow.
Given SFC's amazing depth, they were pedestrian. Their lack of creativity in the central third, when CO kept excellent defensive shape, was very poor.
There were no one twos, or give and goes, with SFC players breaking the lines centrally.
There was no SFC dribbling through the central CO defence.
There were no little SFC chips over the top.
This forced them to go wide too often and the crossing was often mediocre.
Simon's excellent ball carrying and cross was outstanding to provide Ibini with a well taken far post goal. At the time this was an accelerated attack, not penetrating a tight defence.
But when CO played their compact defence, with a deep defensive line, SFC struggled to break though centrally. This is cause for concern. Other HAL teams have recently done this better - City, WSW, Roar, AU come to mind.
There were also SFC handling mistakes, with Brillante and Woodcock losing the ball under little pressure.
If SFC play like they did tonight, City will wipe the floor with them in the final.
