My only question is, did the terrace meet and vote to disband, or did these guys just decide to quit, and shut down the group with them? If they did, that's pretty pathetic.

Also that statement 'we are more real than the contrived franchise club' has to go down as one of the most up-yourself statements I have read

LOL at the bitters. Farewell, good-bye and f*ck off. Your little clubs in the lower leagues will welcome you back.

At the derby, I thought things had finally changed. Me and my mates watched as a flare was ripped, the entire stadium booed, and then people within the terrace pointed out the fuckwit to the authorities, everyone went back to the game.

That's what the club, the FFA, the cops, security, and lets face it, the majority of fans in attendance want. For the fuckwits to fuck right.

Then all this disbanding shit came out.

It's really funny how the NT, or those who claim to represent the NT, cannot see the cause and effect. You want to dance, sing, chant, move freely, wave your flags and have your tiffo? Stop protecting colossal arsehats who are breaking the law. It's pretty fucking simple.

And I don't give a fuck about this "no pyro, no party" bullshit. Flare's are illegal here, whether you like them or not. The FFA don't want them, the club doesn't want them, and based on the reaction of the 40,000 at the derby, the fans don't want them.

You won't self police? Then expect others to do it for you.

Do I feel bad for the majority of the NT that are there to support the club, have a good time and not get bogged down in this bullshit? For sure. But actions within the NT weren't changing.

Think Einstein said it best - "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Sums up the NT.

As a Roar fan I have always loved the passion from the Victory supporters, it is a shame though that a few ruin the hard work done by many and bring a bad name for the rest of the group.

Now that the north terrace wont be going to Victory games, maybe they can go to miniroos matches, primary school assemblies, local church services, children's playgrounds fast food restaurants packed with kids etc. Then they can chant all their offensive swearing chants and allow flares to be ripped whilst throwing beer all over the place.
What? You say that sort of stuff isn't acceptable at those places? Then why would it be acceptable in a stadium full of young kids who love football?
What I'm getting at is it's not a big deal to me that they're gone if they don't understand that the game on the pitch is the main event and it's a game for ALL people, children included. I like the active support at matches, but I go to the match, and take my kids to the match to watch the FOOTBALL. I don't want to have to hear and explain offensive swear words or why there's a flare to a kid who just loves to play and watch football. Active support can be good, but it's not necessary to enjoy the sport and it shouldn't be offensive to the general public. By all means, sing, jump cheer, dance, beat drums, play music support the team, but don't swear and rip flares in a stadium packed full of kids who love football. If you can't control the few idiots in your group who step outside the parameters of what the league and club have set, then you need the security firms and the clubs supervision to do that job for you. I understand that you don't like the way they do it, but if that's the case, you've only brought it on yourself by not realising the football is the main event, and you've got to lift your own standards.
ps. take a look at some Argentinian chants if you want to get the whole crowd involved.

Biggest supporter group in the league
Biggest membership base in the league
Biggest video/audio presence in league advertisements
Consistently rated best atmosphere in the league

"No one cares about you, self serving etc. etc."

I don't buy it. You can claim the NT is all about itself, but the numbers and reputation speaks for itself. The club and league are worse off with the NT, and I hope they come crawling back.

I had a friend that goes to Victory games quite regularly and said it was like a morgue on Monday night against wellington. That tells you the effect of losing the NT. The atmosphere will be lost and then people will stop getting attracted to it. Will certainly put City and Victory on level pegging.

It wasn't the best, but definitely wasn't the worst atmosphere I've ever witnessed at a Victory game.

South End was still chanting when they weren't drinking their beers, and they got stuff out of the North Terrace. Better than to be expected with the NT turning their backs on the game.

It will take time, but something will organically grow out of what remains.

And hopefully it won't include the minoroty fuckwit, flare ripping, I'm fucking ultra, colossal arse hats of old.

Problem is Mark, that it just isn;t all about the football on the pitch. Fact of the matter that many people that get attracted to the a-league in the first place do so because of the atmosphere. You telling me that if games were played like they are with Rugby crowds that we would have this level of support in the a-league? No chance. I hear many more stories regarding the atmosphere of games from new comers than the quality they witnessed on the pitch. So that is telling. With time that may change for the good of football on the pitch, but for now, having a great atmosphere is absolutely vital for growth of our sport in our country.

Does that mean I endorse some of the shit that NT have done, no definitely not. I hate it when they rip flares because all it does is creates a big easy target for the local scum media to have an easy jab. People will say it doesn't matter because they will find anything to atttack us, however, the flares is a very visual thing which the common people can easily identify with and thus needs to be stamped out. HOWEVER these active supporter groups also do the game a lot of good, and to say its not a big deal they are gone is actually very short sighted. So far the last two home games played for Victory have been utterly shit with regards to atmosphere, at least when compared to seasons past. And that over time WILL have an effect overall.

Well what makes Victory different to City? Many would say that Victory get better match day atmospheres, they are seen as the cooler club because they are bigger, but if people slowly catch on that game day experience isn't all that fantastic, they decide just to watch at home instead. Thus game day crowds will start to level out with City. That's what im saying.

How hard is it to behave and support your team within the law?

Im not arguing with you on that.

The question is, whether having them in with the occasional flare is better than having them gone, with the effect of very much reduced atmosphere but no flares? And to take the second choice as if it were a no brainer is perhaps a little short sighted, that's mainly what im saying. I can see why people are happy to see them gone, but I wonder whether or not they realise whether it will have an impact on overall support for the club. The point of difference with other codes is basically just being diminished and that is NOT a good thing.

Question to any NT people that are part of the disbanding. Are you still going to the games and sitting elsewhere? Or are you not going to games at all? If the latter, than you have really shown your true colours.

Pretty much. There's clearly a group of people that are still interested in maintaining the terrace and I think the idea that the only people capable of leading active support in all of Melbourne are exclusively part of Nomadi or Horda is bullshit.

From an outsiders perspective, the NT got worse when the bald bloke was no longer Capo.

BWB were usurped because they were caught with their pants down accepting the HEM decisions that the club were bringing in that season, which greatly angered Nomadi, Horda etc.  Ironically this season with NTC we are arguably worse off and there was significantly less fanfare about it all from the NTC leadership. As far as I can tell BWB are still there with the drum crew so who knows what's going to happen in the future

That may be the most cringeworthy thing I've ever read.

I'm sure these morons would say "no one is bigger than the club!" literally a second after any player requests a transfer too.
