Kingborough Lions sign Gabriel Markaj from Adelaide United Youth Team / Vipers Football Club as NPL coach for 2017 season. Now their is three coaches under the age of 26 in the NPL coaching ranks which is very rare in the Tasmanian football scene. http://sliceofcheese.net/index.php/lions-unveil-gabriel-markaj-as-new-leader-of-the-pride/http://www.klufc.org.au/news/lions-appoint-gabriel-markaj-as-ps4-npl-tas-head-coachhttps://www.facebook.com/klufc/videos/1195847330463959/

I am not sure why P&R needs to be coupled with an expansion to 10 teams, but hopefully it means 27 rounds rather than 18.
IMO the proposed playoff model could be tweaked as I am not convinced that the team that loses the South Conference vs Northern Conference series deserves a 2nd chance at playing in the NPL.

This will be excellent although I do wonder what criteria is to be met to be promoted.

Out of all the teams below only Glenorchy Knights and Riverside Olympic have shown intent to join the NPL in 2019 so far. But criteria to enter will be interesting. I think promotion/relegation is a good thing but I can't see many teams able to make the step-up easily. Veto Southern Championship Beachside Glenorchy Knights Hobart United Metro FC Nelson New Town Eagles Southern FC Taroona FC University Veto Northern Championship Burnie United Devonport Strikers (Reserves) Launceston City (Reserves) Launceston United Northern Rangers (Reserves) Riverside Olympic Somerset Sharks Ulverstone Below were the criteria used for the inception of the state league in 2013. http://walterpless.com.au/2012/july/five-southern-and-three-northern-teams-announced-as-starters-in-victory-league.htmlThe five criteria that the applications were assessed against are as follows: Governance of the clubs, including the history of the clubs, how well it has been managed (and is presently) together with their future plans; Facilities offered by the clubs, with a focus on the current quality available or the assessment of claims of improved facilities by the commencement of 2013; Technical characteristics, including the ability of the clubs to meet the structure of teams, coaching capability and player pathways; Financial standing of the clubs and their future ability to meet the commitments of participation in the new competition; and The ability of the clubs to market themselves and the league in a positive manner to all stakeholders and their ability to raise financial support from sponsors/partners.

New direction for Strikers
ARRIVAL: Newly appointed Devonport Strikers coach Chris Gallo visited the Coast this week and will return in January ahead of season 2017. Picture: Cordell Richardson. Chris Gallo has joined the Devonport Strikers with a wealth of experience from some of the best soccer programs in England. The newly appointed coach plans to build on the success the club achieved in 2016 but also move in a new direction and help focus on the youth on the North-West Coast. Gallo joined the Strikers from a one year stint as Technical Director with Manly United Football Club where he has also played seniors. His experience stretches back to his teenage years where he travelled to England before being picked up by Championship side, Hull City. The 26-year-old is from Sydney originally but spent time in England playing with Hull City before coaching roles came up with Notts County, York City and again with Hull. “When I was 16 I went over to England just to play some friendly games really and I got picked up there by Hull City,” Gallo said. “From there it escalated quickly really, I played one year pro there under Phil Brown. “I got injured shortly after that and didn’t renew my contract so I moved back to Sydney and played for Manly where I play under-18s to the first team. ”His coaching resume is also impressive at a young age having putting time into his coaching career from a young age. “I did my advanced coaching courses here, I did a C licence here and went off and wanted to expand myself. “I got in touch with contacts in England and did my B and A licence there. “My first job was at Notts County and then moved to York City and then back to Hull City. ”After returning to Sydney he spent a year with Manly United once again and said his ambition to coach at a higher level had led him to Devonport. “Most of my coaching has been with youth and I wanted to expand and stretch myself in terms of my development and that has led me here. “They have two astro turf pitches and a grass pitch so everything is there ready to go and I want to help them capitalise. “We need to be comparing ourselves to what the best NPL clubs are doing in Sydney and Melbourne, there’s a lot to be done but we need to be patient.” Gallo said he was aiming for success with the Strikers but also wanted to take the club in a new direction. “We should start blooding youth players into the competition but also aim to win games in the first team. Having met the team early this week, Gallo said he had been impressed with how humble the players were. “The guys have a massive work ethic, there’s a lot to work on if I’m honest but that’s a great thing. “There’s a massive thirst for knowledge there which is great.”

+xHere is something I've spent abit of time doing the last day or so whenever I get the chance. Based off last years kits and sponsors, can change if there is any changes this season. image upload with preview Wow this is amazing, great work. Close to perfect. Just a few things that I noticed but being very picky. The Clarence United kit is missing the black trimming on the neck. Also the NPL and club logo needs to be in line with black strip on chest. http://www-static2.spulsecdn.net/pics/00/35/90/01/35900173_1_O.jpgFor Devonport Strikers sponsor logo should be in the format below. Blue socks not yellow but i must admit the yellow looks better, no yellow trim on shorts and it would be awesome if you could add those six lines on the kit. http://sliceofcheese.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/zupo1.jpghttps://www.facebook.com/MyPathway/photos/a.248638451905258.37370.162828090486295/768407526595012/?type=1&theater

Any idea when the fixture is released or when the Lakoseljac Cup is drawn?
