+xWhy is it only in the last few years these people have started protesting in their thousands and burning flags? I don't ever remember seeing such widespread protesting against a day before about 5 years ago. We should change the day so leftard organ thieves like murdochs rags have to find something more important to complain about. The reality is the aboriginal people will transfer their grievance to another issue, the protesting and government demonization will never end. All we white devils can feel is empathy for their suffering and the misconduct carried out against them. Most of us were not alive to stop/alter some of the darkest parts of our history. However we're all guilty by association. It came in to prominence after the apology. They had nothing to winge about afterwards so they had to find something new. Classic example of give an inch, take a mile

Mr Shoebridge, a prominent Greens Upper House MP: "The concerns about someone attempting to set fire to a flag as against the reality of 229 years of violence and oppression the indigenous people have suffered shows how skewed this argument in this country is."
What a fucking spastic. Some idiot is lighting something on fire in a crowded place. How the fuck does this have anything to do with 229 years of oppression? It's a public safety risk for starters and extremely disrespectful. What a narrowminded leftard. I hope he is kicked from his seat immediately with such idiotic views. He also called police heavy handed. Footage from the protest shows police attempting to reach the portion of the crowd burning the flag only to be met with violence from protestors. What can you really expect from the feral left?

Meanwhile, in Perth, the Skyworks were cancelled (this is unthinkable to Perthians) due to a fatal plane crash into the Swan river in front of people preparing to watch the fireworks. https://thewest.com.au/news/7-news-update/families-rattled-following-plane-crash-bc-5299257962001

It just seems like such a no brainer to change the date. It has zero impact on non-indigenous Australians to change it, but it would allow indigenous people to celebrate it as well. I'd be genuinely interested to see any argument against changing it that isn't a variation of 'if you don't like it then fuck off'.
Open up a vote, give a few options of summer dates around the same time to celebrate it and let us decide when we want to celebrate. From what I've seen people aren't even worried about a particular date, and just want a long weekend sometime in summer.

Literally no one cares what day it is unless they are offended by it in which case it makes total sense to just move it and be done with this ridiculous issue. I empathise with the indigenous people but I do not accept the whole "you're racist for celebrating" nonsense.

+xSaw a video proposing changing the date to May 8 ('cos Mate). Was "heh" worthy until the social commentary started Not hot enough for beach or water sports, just cause they can say Mate doesn't make it a good alternative date

If the date changes then the regressive left will just find another bunch of useful idiots to play the victim and continue their efforts to tear down everything about the society around them. It's what the regressive left do - perpetual revolution comrades.
Is it any surprise that some of the people behind the changethedate hashtag are members of Australian academia? The most reactionary, SJW, self-absorbed and dare I say it - Marxist, subculture in Australian society.
Next it will be the flag, Anzac Day, gender, Easter & Christmas as public holidays.

Another one coming out with the 'regressive left' - so we have regressive progressives. Of course, cause the word 'conservative' implies progressiveness. LOL. As for Easter & Xmas, shock horror, we can't have those days changed! Or maybe we can, if we could substitute them with another bunch of fairytales so the right can keep living in their alternate reality fantasy land, to help them sleep at night.

But it doesn't stop does it? Perpetual revolution - Lenin would be proud of the way the Red cause has doubled down on social deconstruction after they had their asses handed to them in the economic sphere. Not sure what Ben Chifley would think though.

Not sure what Ben Chifley would think though. Ahh the right wing exceedingly narrow worldview mentality - its all about the economy. Funny that the economy is at the expense of the environment, but ironically the deadweight loss to the economy is in the trillions from environmental destruction, particularly anthropogenic global warming. Of course for people who believe in sky fairies, anthropogenic global warming doesn't exist.

Problem solved.
