If Arsene had resigned immediately at FT I don't think I would have even been sad, just relieved. 

Some really epic results these last 2 days.
At one end of the scale we have Real just typically doing it whereas Barca just didn't turn up. Kudos to PSG they owned them from the koff.
Whereas you guys had some form of hope upon Sanchez's pen and recovery putting it away to counter Robbens beautiful strike.
The rest was elementary - weather its Arsen or not after the season the board need to understand its time to rebuild your squad.
Its alright making up the numbers year in year out but its been long enough eh.

The gulf between Bayern Real throw in PSG right now and Barca despite their meltdown that doesn't happen that often is a divide that the rest of the clubs in CL either spend more or keep picking up the crumbs.

The biggest problem is that we seemingly can no longer co-ordinate a press. The amount of times one player would hassle an opponent and then throw their arms up after they get a simple release pass was pathetic. It's all ok to sit dip with two banks of four, but i f you can't systematically press as a unit then you're going to be destroyed. 

I have no idea how the hell we did it against United a year or two ago. 

That could have been 10 without some smart saves by Ospina.

Coqeluin (or however the fuck you spell it) and Oxlade Chamberlain are just terrible.

Couldn't give any player other than Opsina or Sanchez more than 5/10 for the performance. I think Sanchez could leave given how much he carries the team at times.

well, sorry your kidding yourself, by and large its fine ????.....maybe at PL level but at this level your never going past this round as the history shows.
If by and large its fine tbh its not wengers fault on the pitch - its what they are doing on the pitch and its not good enough.
The 1st half was an admirable effort - but Bayern were running the game in any case.
Ospina saved your balls big time (god help you if chec was in) due to defense and mids allowing them to run through you 2nd half.
jlm quotes the attitude that you see many times, they give up because they error or find it difficult to win the ball against quality sides.
When your on your on, doesn't happen enough..
Without the Chilean fighter your gone up front, kudos to him, I admire his effort and play despite his antics people get upset over, he's frustrated and I don't blame him.
Ozil, one of the most gifted players today just continually disappears, a player who should be able to change the game for you now and then especially in this circumstance.
Robbens goal was just his usual from the right cut back in leave him space had enough time to place it perfectly in the corner as he has done countless times.

Nope, no offence taken. I do think there is a big distinction between a squad being good enough for this level and a squad being prepared tactically enough for this level. Worse teams have consistently made better runs. That's a tactical and management issue, not entirely based on the squad. Ozil is one of the most gifted players in the world with the ball at  his feet, but we set up in a way where he was instructed to play as a second striker. Why? 

The issues run far deeper than players not performing on the pitch. i've seen the set up used many times, and it hasn't worked time and time again. 

The few times the players are instructed to play with intensity and press, we're capable of blowing teams out. Chelsea this season, United/Liverpool/City in previous years.

Sure Bayern are a different beast all together, but I refuse to believe we wouldn't have been more competitive. 

They give up not because it's too hard, but because there is no system to it.

Playing to instructions is one thing, this is a given at this level or any professional team for that matter but there also is despite being instructed to sit deep natural attention does come to hand together as a squad on the pitch and just as Sanchez's reaction thinking come on don't let them just play out so easily from the opponents bottom 3rd every single time where is the kill aspect from within as you say of the press.
Say he forces the error in their 3rd, where is the back up or the natural mental aspect to be there just in case.
Sooner or later in games players need to react accordingly as a unit to force a change. Your entire squad is playing like robots to the game plan set but it would all be forgiven if together they forced the change more times than not.......
They knew what to expect in this game.
They knew they wouldn't have much ball.
Wenger played safe, granted but you have to have a go as well hence why Sanchez spits the dummy. Why isn't at least 1-2 of his fellow players reacting, Ozil as per the 2nd striker for eg.

Ozil, sure is being wasted but he also needs to show fight ! feck even giroud runs around more than him.
They do give up but more so its frustration, its not just the no system that I can agree with but they are not quick enough talented enough against these beasts that are up another level even if given pressing reign instructions imo.

The fact that this same thing has happened with different groups of players kind of proves that it's more the system than the players that are the problem. There's no way anyone can make me believe someone like a Conte couldn't take this exact same squad and have them competitive in game after game against these big teams and not be continually embarrassed in these games because we have a manager who is either incapable of learning anymore or just refuses to.

Looks like that change might happen too, feeling within the club apparently is that Arsene might be off at the end of the season. Can only hope we maybe give the FA Cup a good run and give him some sort of high to go out on if he does leave.

For sure Wenger is a piece to the puzzle. No doubt about it.
I'm just saying at the same time the players on the pitch are a let down as well - full stop period no matter the system/tactics they are to follow.
There is that natural competitiveness within that is shown externally by Sanchez for eg, doesn't that effect boost his fellow players.
Doesn't look like it overall. As I said sometimes you just got to throw the toys out of the bath and go for broke - Sanchez is saying just that come on fellas lets get it on.
Conte sure would get them in better frame of mind so would Klopp but your sqaud is not as good as chelseas imo despite their meltdown last season.
Conte inherited a top shelf squad that went awol for a while added a few tweeks and recruit here and there. Its back to normal stations for that core group.
Anyway as this loss has highlighted, Wengers time was up some years ago we all know, players are being scrutinised and with good reason so overall looks like it will finally be the fresh start for next season - now just depends where you finish end of this one.

Yeah I'm not saying Wenger is the only piece to the puzzle, just the biggest imo. As you say, the players definitely play a part. Really Arsene should have left on the high of one of the 2 FA Cups and rode off into the sunset.

Although as much as I want change I am worried about who we have in charge of selecting the next manager, have no confidence in them to make the right decision. 

Agree re AW, I don't mind him at all, he's likeable thats the thing.
For a intelligent man it boggles why he has not grabbed the opportunities by the throat but we can gather why and you just brought it up.
The board, people will blame AW but they are the root cause more than anything else just as FSG is for us.

Sans the victory against Hull City, it's hurting to see Arsenal being dominated over for three consecutive games (especially the most recent against Bayern in UCL). If this continues, Wenger has to think about his future then. 

I cannot wait to see the moaning in the morning when Welbeck isn't in the squad.

Hey all the people, Arsenal before used to be a pretty strong Football club unfortunately nowadays shows us a different situation, but anyway that club has good potential maybe they are just unlucky!

If Coquelin never makes an appearance for Arsenal again it'll still be too soon.

This. Been a long time since we consistently played good football over a sustained period.

I also just want to see a midfield of Ox and Xhaka with a front 4 including Sanchez, Ozil, Welbz and Perez. Iwobi has done nothing to earn a guaranteed start.

Also about time Arsene made a decision on his future one way or the other. None of this waiting till the end of the season, announce this will be the end and do everything we can to win the FA Cup and send him out on some sort of high. Random reports around that Allegri has verbally agreed to take over in the summer if Arsene leaves, although I wouldn't read much into any of those reports.

I wish we could get Sanchez, he would rip with us.
At least we'd score even more than what we'd leak lol........
The biggest issue from our game wenger not starting Sanchez and ozil despite the issues.
You may have had a better chance from the start instead of having a better 2nd half but you also came up against the Foxs loss just as we screwed up that game week before with the sacking etcetc..
I doubt you would have got over us even if they were on their game.

Players gave up after the penalty. First 50 minutes was the best we've played in some time, could have had a bigger lead and had a good shout for a penalty. 

Honestly despite being 5-2 down and going out, such absurd decisions that ruin what could be a promising occasion make me sick. One of the worst I've seen in a long time. 

Why show kos a yellow then change it to a red??

Never thought I'd say this but I am at the point where I am genuinely worried Arsene will sign on for another year or two.
