So there's a group of peadophile RBB fans out there who gain pleasure form creating artworks of male genitalia, then simulate homosexual acts in front of children ? Police rather than the FFA

- Make jokes about Sydney FC fans feeding their pet goldfish (who have pet memberships) and kissing their boyfriends before heading to their games - Make a massive tifo depicting Arnie smoking a sausage Nah totes not homophobic brah
For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby

+x+x+x+x+xSay what you will but that was a quality made tifo of a grown man sucking a dick It was wrong and it just left a bad taste in the mouth :P Dick move tbh. It was ballsy, will give them that. I don't know if it was ballsy "gay"fish, was just a little too hard to swallow. bunch of immature dickheads did this... it gave the A-League's reputation a low-blow!

+x+x+x+x+x+xI'll call it now- Squires will use this incident to appeal to your typical Guardian reader and make some statement along the lines of "If you don't think this is homophobic, here's your One Nation t-shirt". Shall we wager? I think he'll make some dick puns and not go into homophobia. What would you suggest as the wager? Happy to chuck a $20 on it (known around here as a wamackie). We may need some independent adjudication to decide whether his comic will go into hyperbole over homophobia and where dick puns end and the above allegations begin, as of course there can be plenty of shades of meaning in a comic strip. Ok. As black and white as I can think: If he implies that anybody questioning how the banner is homophobic is the one with a problem (or words to that effect) you owe me $20. If he references the banner, but doesn't imply this, $20 is coming your way. Deal? Haha but he reads these forums does he not? :P -PB I'll split the winnings with you David! ;)

Western Sydney Wanderers banner: Revulsion, anger or frustration? All of the above, says Robbie Slater IT’S hard to know what is the strongest emotion that’s sparked by the banner we saw raised in the midst of the RBB during Saturday night’s derby — revulsion, anger, or frustration that a certain core group of Wanderers “supporters” simply don’t get it after all this time. What kind of people think it would be acceptable — let alone an actively good idea — to spend many hours creating a moving banner designed to show Graham Arnold engaged in a sex act, and unfurl it in the midst of a football match on national television?MATCH REPORT: Wanderers ends Sydney’s ‘Invincibles’ questCRIME AND PUNISHMENT: FFA call out WSW fans over sick bannerCertain members of the RBB, that’s who.Let’s be honest, the banner was clearly meant to be Arnie, as the embodiment of Sydney FC, and if we were in any doubt, the message was reinforced on Sunday by the RBB’s Twitter account posting a quote from the Sydney coach along with a picture of their banner. This is something that has no place in society, let alone at a football match. It’s homophobic, lewd, sexually explicit and deeply offensive. Sydney coach Graham Arnold is furious over the Wanderers’ weak response.Source: Getty ImagesArnie has three daughters old enough to know exactly what the banner meant. They might have hoped that by Monday lunchtime, some sort of apology was forthcoming to their father from the club in whose name that banner was constructed.I know Arnie is furious, both at what happened, and the relative silence since. On Sunday Western Sydney said they “didn’t condone” it. Is that really the best they can do, the strongest thing they can think of to say? If so it shows a lack of responsibility, a refusal to address this problem associated with their club.Compare Western Sydney’s response with the speed that Melbourne City attempted to put right Dean Bouzanis’s tirade against Besart Berisha. We are a mainstream sport, with a mainstream TV deal and mainstream sponsors. What does NRMA Insurance think about being associated with this, as the club’s major sponsor? And what do they think about the weak response? Wanderers fans bring colour and noise but elements of their support are rotten.Source: News Corp AustraliaThe problem seems to be the sense that in enjoying all the wonderful parts about the Wanderers we have to accept the fringe nutters as well. Clearly there are some very disturbed people involved in this, and I won’t accept them as being part of my sport. That banner was premeditated, well-planned and involved a lot of people, so don’t let’s brush it under the carpet. Banter between fans is one thing, but this is the gutter — arguably a darker side to the RBB than letting off flares.FFA need to come down very hard on the club — a substantial fine would be appropriate, perhaps then donated to an appropriate charity. Anything else and we’re all guilty of side-stepping something so offensive.

+x+x+xCan't see how it's homophobic. Lewd yes. A cock sucker is a cock sucker, has nothing to do with being male or female. It so happens that graham Arnold is a man, if it was Gracie Arnold then it would have been a woman.People need to get off their pic high horses about this one. You're delusional if you think that it is about a man sucking another mans dick. Maybe the dick in the tifo belonged to a transgender person, it wasn't stipulated. Maybe it was a life like strap on. Are we living in some kind of nanny state or what. It was a bit of fun. Why is being a cock sucker a bad thing? I didn't say it was a bad thing. Why is fucking a mother seen as a bad thing when people insult people by calling them motherfucker. They aren't, they are just generic based insults, tied back to a past that we don't experience anymore. It would be unnecessarily PC to jump on a band wagon about this. You obviously don't have kids and have never had to answer awkward questions in relation to rubbish like this in the public domain. Your attitude is a poor reflection of the good WSW supporters out there.

WSW has once again not dealt with their fan issues well at all. I have sympathy that fuckwit supporters are doing these sorts of things and not the club themselves but they've had plenty of warnings that they need to be stronger. They deserve a punishment IMO.

Zero standards? It was a tifo made in the spirit of banter that has been warped by glass jaws eager to be find fault in whatever they can. Let's take everything seriously guys, we're on a crusade to save society I'm curious to see the explanation of how you think the message of the banner has been warped to find fault. Although I expect 'banter' will be the explanation. I'm hardly overly politically correct, I'll mock and say things along the lines of what the banner said in private (and most likely have on the forums) But, Football SHOULD have a zero-standard policy to things like this. Football is for everyone - of all races, sexes and sexual preferences, and things like this don't do anything other than turn people away from the game. I find it astounding how people ITT can defend it, or even feel offended that other people find the banner offensive.

+x+xThe pussification of society is in full swing. Lets get offended and demand justice over everything Let's ask a gay footballer how he feels about this? Or even a gay football fan. again the banner was not homophobic, call it anything else and you could be right yes it was in poor taste, yes it was offensive(not to me but to most people yes), yes it was crass and graceless but no it wasnt homophobic of course some people find meaning in anything like people calling global warming racist

See, putting this down to "bantz" doesn't float with me. Sex, Sexuality and Race are out of bounds. It's mind boggling that these days people don't get that. Why not make a giant Whinging Arnie Tifo? Nope the RBB went for the standard homophobic "Hahahah SFC is ghey" that they are known for.

+xI'd love to have been a fly on the wall when this whole thing was thought up hahah. "Bruh, we're gonna make a giant Arnie sucking cock banner" "AWWWW YIISSSSSSSSSS" Like, how'd they even get that inside haha, did security stop to ask anyone what the giant penis was for? LOL. -PB The RBB's attitude seems to be something along the lines of "aww shit, the cove are gunna be so mad that we callin dem gay"!! Its primary school level stuff. Hell, i'd like to think nowadays most primary school kids are better educated about sexual orientation and gay slurs are on the way out.

+xWhy not make a giant Whinging Arnie Tifo? Was just thinking that, do a tifo-sized banner of the shaking head Arnie gif. That would of been hilarious.
