You would hope so, the stomping looked clear cut to me. No need for that player to be anywhere the player on the ground.

https://twitter.com/blakebirt/status/832905039010082817

From the long vision it seems he not looking where he is walking when he steps on the feet, and to me it does not look like a stomping. He certainly stepped on the hands but there was no extra downward force that I would consider stomping.

We are watching two separate pieces of footage. Ive never seen a professional footballer like that with such poor spacial awareness if it was accidental, id drop a player who couldn't tell where they were on the pitch. It was pretty clearly deliberate.

Says the bloke who thinks Ninkovic should have been sent off for simulation when Santalab tried to break his heel and later shoulder tackled him in the penalty area.

@mcjIs this the same Graham Arnold that accused Poppa of telling his players to injure SFC players? Why should they call him? Release a statement on their website at most.

Because it's the right thing to do?

That's only your opinion or interpretation. WSW should be allowed to respond how they want.

A real life example is I have seen BR play MV at Suncorp twice (my only 2 live games actually) and both times the Den sung "there's only one Kevin Muscat", at the end of that rhyme they call him a paedophile. They sung it several times throughout the match. Maybe other clubs sing it too and or similar at opponent players or managers. Has Roar even phoned Muscat and apologized?

The meaning was clearly to call him a "cocksucker" , which is on par with dickhead and wanker. Only they didn't write it they drew it. If there was a picture of Arnie with a penis growing out of his head would you be equally appalled?

I think it is worse to be called a kiddy fiddler than a cocksucker.

He should have been. Regardless of the tackle it does not warrant rolling around and flipping yourself around on the ground. It looked ridiculous, and its exactly the kind of thing that turns people off our game. Santalab was not trying to break his heel or whatever else you've insinuated. I understand youre unhappy about the result but they were typical hard Santalab challenges. Im not saying i like his style, but it wasn't malicious in the way you've suggested.

When will the FFA deal with their little darlings and give the Cove a sanction.
They key off flares at Pirtek last year, threw beer on families and made it dangerous.
And here is part of the damage to ANZ by the Cove

http://images.performgroup.com/di/library/sportal_com_au/96/53/sydney-fc-fans_1mj6315kzcibw1g253kfb8tynq.jpg?t=1400969258

FFA needs to act on the Cove if they act on the poor taste tifo.

Weakest argument of them all, "but what about that person, he did worse". Even worse than the "if we concede that x is wrong then they'll just be upset about y and z".

Ignoring the fact that it's debatable whether a chant is worse than a visual display that disseminates through modern communication much more effectively, it was wrong and while no one thinks any employee of WSW is responsible for it, they do have a responsibility to make their home games a safe and family friendly environment. Staying silent on it sends the wrong message.

So WSW ceo should apologize to Arnold because Pignata says so, and Pignata shouldn't apologize to Muscat because they only sang it and didn't draw it?

It easier to tell your children to look away, distract them or walk them away then it is to block out chants by adults about having sex with children.

I'm not saying either are acceptable, only wondering why your moral outrage is absent.

Thing is that for most people it's not an issue.
It's a media beat up by the like of Fairfax that don't report on the games just the negatives.

If FFA start with the holier than thou bullshit and fine WSW over this, we can go back over EVERY club and find something offensive from their supporters.
Do we really want to go down that road?

FFA spoke their piece, WSW need to say some nominal platitude and lets all move the fuck on

Now you are confused. That is reactive. Them reacting to the media storm.

Proactive is sorting things out before they happen. Prevention if you will.

They have totally messed up the banning process for example as rbb states.

They could for example copy and enforce Uefas SLO or something very similar.

http://www.uefa.org/MultimediaFiles/Download/Tech/uefaorg/General/01/84/35/28/1843528_DOWNLOAD.pdf

Something that doesn't necessarily promote love between fans and FAs but bring fans and clubs closer together. A relationship built on mutual respect not "fear" from above.

They stand back wait for shit to boil over then demand explanations. Reactive.

I have never heard of a football league that is managed so haphazardly but at the same time the leaders manage to stick their nose in everything and make things worse.

If Graham Arnold was known to be gay then yes, absolutely this would be homophobic. As it stands I think it's obvious it was intended as just a bit of banter, but banter that is demeaning to homosexuals.

The biggest problem is it makes A-League fans look like a bunch of 14 year olds, and gives parents another reason not to bring their kids along.

Who's confused? I said I agree that there needs to be more done to prevent these problems. My criticism of the situation was directed to WSW because I don't think they're doing enough proactively OR reactively.

You seem to be suggesting that the FFA shouldn't be asking for explanations when something boils over. UEFA does this too, how many times have clubs had to play to empty stadiums because of crowd trouble in Europe?

Got some evidence of that? The vocal people on 442 or in the Twittersphere is not a great sample.

I don't understand this "holier than thou" stuff, it's the FFA's job as the governing body to be that. I would love the FFA to liaise with clubs on how to work with supporter groups and stamp out all offensive behaviour.

Well, credit where its due to Santalab, when substituted he went over to Ninkovic and apologised. Clearly he could see that his challenge had caused him quite a bit of pain. Nethertheless the man was lucky to stay on the field, just like he's been lucky on three or four other occasions this season. Funnily enough the one time he has been sent of it was extremely harsh.

Its got nothing to do with the result or club bias. Rhyan Grant has been in the same boat this season.

Ok, I can't handle reading this thread anymore. So in fear of repeating what others may have already stated, here's my 2 cents worth.

Yep, shit tifo. Inappropriate, poor taste, etc.
Homophobic. Nope. The good old PC crowd are at it again. It has to be taken in the context of which it was mean't. In response to Arnie's "we'll go undefeated" drivel. So many of you guys ( much younger than me that is ) use the abbreviation EAD. I see it all over football forums, social media etc.
So, let's all settle down, and call it what it is. Inappropriate, rude, crude, vulgar. Definitely not homophobic.I'm sure you're all not that precious.

Now, yes, some in the RBB seem to have coco pops for brains, and it infuriates the f#@k out of me, and many of my fellow RBBer's. However, let's not condemn everyone for that. Just like we don't get all self righteous ( as many have on here ) and condemn the entire ESFC club and supporter base for the antics from your lot on the weekend. Or, in previous derbies, when I've witnessed anti social behaviour from FC fans that just beggars belief, and infuriatingly, always goes un reported.

And the glass house syndrome is in full swing.
We can be called terrorist, houso's, dole bludgers, criminals, Isis recruiting centres, wogs....jokes are made about our financial position, or employment levels, education levels.
Let's not even start on the Tards brush that FC so voluminously use. As a father of an Intellectually disabled child, do I jump up and down and get offended by it? Nope. It dismays me. However I understand the context of it's use. It's a poor choice of words, it's distasteful, it's vulgar. Does it offend ME though. No it doesn't.

So lets all settle. Let's not try and get all righteous and have a ' who's morals are higher ' competition.

For the record...I thought it was bloody funny. Still crude and inappropriate, and shouldn't have been used. But bloody funny.

As for Arnie wanting an apology. Grow up Arnie, you're a big boy.
