Cheers avy. My offer was for civil engineering. Sports writing sounds pretty cool, a while back I wanted to do sports journalism. Imagine that. Getting paid to watch sport and write about it.

Civil engineering is the study of maintaining structures, construction of man made designs. So looking at stuff like bridges, buildings, roads etc.

Bachelor of Engineering (civil) at Newcastle Uni was my 1st preference. We are currently in the main round of offers.

Hmm.. I got my offer on like 6th January (2006). Plus I got 5 extra UAI points for being an "elite athlete" :cool:

Your offer was in the main round Marty? The dates must've changed over the years. If not, it was probably in the eraly round of offers. Elite hey? That's pretty cool. I get an extra 8 I think, but not for being 'elite.' How did you get those points?

:lol: Was due to my low UAI. The 5 points only kicked in if I missed the cut-off for my preference. Bachelor of Science was 70.00 and my UAI was 65.70. Just scraped in. So much paperwork involved; would have been easier just to STUDY for the HSC :lol:

Geology is a major of the Bachelor of Science - can't be done through any other degree anymore.
