Don't paraphrase it makes you look silly.

1: I am not a girl
2: I don't follow the Nix, I'm on the Gold Coast, my team was removed from the comp
3: Are you here to make personal insults or discuss the topic?
4: Where are these investors? Name names.

1. Sorry bethany
2. Sure you dont follow the nix. (Arent all aussie football fans "dropkicks").
3. Sorry bethany
4. The countless expansion clubs/bids being denied entry by FFA. Jets owner Martin Lee whose company invests millions into Portuguese div2 (but cant do so here because FFA wont allow a div2).

Unpopular Opinion: Australia's national team will not qualify for the 2022 world cup.

With the ranks of young kids coming through, it would be very hard for us not to qualify for 2022. This campaign has always been the nadir of the NT project as it fell 12 or so years after the death nell of the NSL and it took too long for the FFA to get their act together in developing pathways and talent that they shunned through their religious zeal in not touching what they called "old Soccer".

Looking at the team, there are very few players in the 26 to 30 age bracket that are in the squad. This is the prime period of a footballer's career. We have more coming through in the 22 to 26 bracket which will flow through to the next qualifiers.

I am concerned that we don't have the players coming through. We don't have another Tim Cahill. I also think we have too many of our best playing in China rather than in tougher European leagues.

To be fair, we didn't even know we had a 'Tim Cahill' until he was in his 20s.

Fair call. I just feel like for us he was a special player and we rely so much on him, even at 36. There are no guarantees that another one exists like him.

Striker is a major issue for our NT at the moment.

The SFS isn't hard to get to, it's 20 minute walk up a straight road. Olympic Park isn't hard to get to either you get dropped off right in front of the stadium, what more do you lazy motherfuckers want?

It's fucked.  We look like giant bananas.

Took 40 years to get the gold shirt, green shorts, white socks combo back and then they soft cock it and go with this mono bullshit.

And don't 'it's a FIFA rule' me.  Brazil manages to get away with multi coloured kits just fine, as do others teams, because they've got the kahunas to give the forks to Infantino and his lackeys.

The white socks were only brought back because a small group of influential former players wanted the kit to match what they played in, which was a time when the Australian team stood for amateurism and failed WC campaigns. Until the Asian Cup we had achieved a whole lot more (2 WCs plus another qualification) with gold socks than white.

I don't hate it per se, but that's the truth.

Personally I prefer the 05/09 style kits. I'm not a fan of the all gold, but if we HAVE to do it, then we should go ALL gold, not dodgy green socks. It's not a banana, it's Villarreal.

The worst of all was the Chile game - gold shorts, shirt and white socks.

Average attendances this season will be down on last seasons despite one having the fan boycotts and the other the massive ANZ derby matches.

Well it's not rocket science. It is not hard to draw large audiences when you have a city of 5million to draw from and all the best time slots. In fact when you have 5 million to draw from you should be able to draw well whatever the time slot especially when all 4 Sydney and Melbourne teams are in the finals spots. For the rest of us in smaller markets playing  mid week or 5pm in the middle of summer in the baking sun the task is a bit tougher. A more balanced draw would allow for larger sponsorship deals for these teams and the ability to get (or get better) marquees. It's all very well saying Fox dictates the scheduling but Fox also sets the metrics.

We know why the smaller markets struggle - they have been set up to do so. The questions actually should be asked of 3 of the 4 Sydney and Melbourne teams. Victory as always deliver the best crowds (though affected by crowd upheaval with the NT this season). Sydney has what can only be described as 'meh' crowds considering their season. Melbourne City with the most expensive team ever assembled are making 'some' progress. WSW are struggling with the move to Spotless where the atmosphere is achieved by 'broadcasting' the RBB over the PA system near the Fox microphones.

When all the you are doing is making it easier for the larger clubs to the detriment of the smaller clubs you shouldn't be surprised when the results go in the smaller markets go exactly as could be predicted. Then when your larger markets don't deliver you get the result that we have this season.

To reply to the op about Etihad stadium
Etihad stadium is actually such a nice place, the way its structured and how it looks for afl games it better than nearly all the stadiums in the epl
For football yeah its not to bad only problem is the crowds at the ends of the football goals are a bit far away from the goal than what they are use to etc

Australia is an extremely mediocre football team technically wise. It's only our physical prowess and athleticism that allows us to do relatively well in Asia.

A look at next year. As average crowds have plummeted towards the end of this season, what numbers are people postulating for next year? I would think we'll barely scrape in an 11K average. People will sit out the year and be ready for the 2018 * 2019 season with the added teams.

I reckon that's quite a popular opinion. Our only good technical players would be Mooy and Rogic.
