yep, Captain, we've said this for many years.
I'm surprised Klopp sat on the laurels of Matip only, as it showed once he was out injured we have been back to where we've been for too long.
I know he's trying to get the right players but we should have done more in the off season for another quality CB, sure some are not available but come on......

Despite the league loss I don't think were out of the 4 fight - long way to go and those around us are going to drop just as we've had - we just need to find the net again more often fingers crossed !
FA Cup game have to re cover and straighten the ship ! for chelski next game is going to be huge !

Why is a problem that is so evidently obvious to millions of casual observers worldwide, so seemingly difficult to fix?

Sub-par performances against lowly teams has been a problem since the Benitez era and cost Liverpool the league in 2008-09 (eclipses 2013-14 as their closest tilt at the PL title so far, IMO). Since that time I can't think of a player or member of coaching staff who have stayed on board at the club- even the owners have changed. So WTF? Is it a problem with tactics or club culture? I can't work it out...

We will never work this out. Stupidly don't know why !!!!!!!!
We sure don't have the huge bucks as per the Reals/Barca/chelski/united etc but ffs we sure got/had enough to lock in 2 more decent consistent CB's over the last x yrs.

Its a huge game soon to start at home !
FFS fellas be pumped for the 90mins + needed, if Mane can play and cause havoc off the bench I'll be happy with that.

Could have should have and then again so could have they but Mignolet saves the day ! Soft pen imo and costa having bombed it served justice.
Firmino blew an open chance early 2nd 2-1 then would have probably changed the game more so for us.
We had them on the rack and Lallana's blocked shot landed at Hendo's feet, he crossed deep to the left where Milner did really well attacking the skimming ball heading it back into the box where Wijnaldum challenged heading the ball in.
Even though we forced chelski into error and likewise our timing was off just as recent weeks.
Were not meeting the ball in the danger zone enough to finish - create enough but not putting them in as early season.
Nonetheless a huge effort.
Considering our lack of results through this hectic Jan typically we lift against the top sides and considering a couple of results went our way a little this point in some way is worth more - thanks to watford and the black kats.
Need to beat Hull next game.

I considered staying up for this one, then thought "Fuck it, it's Hull. The best I'm going to feel is some mild relief if LFC win. But Hull will probably win this 1-0."

I was wrong.

2-0 to the Tigers.

I don't blame Klopp for this predicament so much as I blame FSG. Klopp has proven himself to be an astute manager, and what he achieved with BR's leftovers last season was resourcefulness at its' best.

But without FSG taking this club seriously and investing the money needed into bulking up the squad (especially in the midfield) then watching games for the meantime feels pointless.

The way things are right now, this club is practically Arsenal of the north- but at least our fans have 5 CL trophies to admire in the museum...

I was on a flight overnight - so thank christ I knew nothing.
I woke up this morn not wanting to know but once I had heard the result I kind of expected it ! which is wrong but thats the run of the ball since Jan.
As Carra says we have been worked out.
Sit back park the bus we are choked.
I just don't know why we can't draw them out and then with swift pass's catch them out.
Typically we have more possession more strikes on goal and lose lol....< thats all I can do for now under the circumstances.

Well - its another huge game coming up at home in the league !
I have faith were going to lift just how long can we hold it.
IF we finally put away a chance or 2 it would be great but our defense/keeper scenario is the issue at hand.
3points from this would be massive.

we scored the 3points !
Worth getting up for the 2nd half :)
Typically we lift playing these guys - its the mid table and below we keep screwing up.
Probably gave chelski the title but we had to straighten our ship.
haha spudz tried to muscle being frustrated and came up empty.
Its over for them now.

I hate losing to Liverpool. I just hate Liverpool.

Tactical naivety from Poch this time around. All you have to do is sit back and Liverpool shoot themselves in the foot. If you let Mane run he is always going to score.

Sure Poch's tactics may have been questionable but your guys were hussled from the get go no matter the tactics.
Apart from Son's 1on1 that Mignolet dug well and saved you had maybe 2-3 more good chances only, your mids that have to say I expected to muscle it up as they did the win against chelski were under the pump whole game.
Great save by Lloris denying Mane the hat trick and he just missed another could have been 4zip.
Firmino no goal but was huge up there - late in the game penned in the corner by Dier and Walker ? he just owned them tricking them up.
Great result against the leagues best defense.
17 shots to 7, on target 9 to 2 - says it all about Kane's yellow for that dirty tackle.
corners 10 to 3.
Little more for you BETHFC to add to the hate :)
  • Liverpool have won more Premier League games at Anfield against Tottenham than any other current top-flight side they have faced (16 wins)
  • The Reds are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League encounters with Spurs, winning six and drawing three
  • Tottenham have conceded eight goals from open play in their last 13 Premier League games after conceding just one in their opening 12 matches of the season
  • Spurs conceded eight shots on target; their most in a first half since 2003-04
  • Spurs have failed to score in successive Premier League away games for the first time since April 2015
  • Toby Alderweireld received his first Premier League yellow card since March 2016, after a run of 26 games without a booking

Just wish we didn't shot ourselves in the foot all Jan but we lack the depth and injuries to Coutinho Matip through Jan and Mane away contributed greatly.
We have got 16points from a possible 23/24 vsing the top 6 but drop them to the others :crying:
We live to fight another weekend, nice long rest now could be good could be all for nothing.

Against Liverpool, most teams succeed playing deep and hitting on the break. We decided to play a suicidally high line with Mane running in behind. If that's not silly I don't know what is.

We're still 3rd so it could be worse.

Agree mate, but as you know how you start a game most times helps setting the standard, even if you had sat deep we were on it just as I watched your guys play chelski at WHL some weeks ago.
Sometimes no matter the tactics set the game gets taken out of your hands, our blokes gave yours no time to settle, under the pump most of the game, more so the 1st half, it was night and day game over :)
Yep your 3rd and the run for those 3places is so so close the coming weeks, nail biting to the end.....

I considered setting my alarm for this one, then thought "Fuck it, it's Leicester. They've got the artificial boost of playing at home under a new manager, but there's been a weeks' rest for LFC and they should be set up for a big showing against this low-ranking team."

I was wrong.

3-1 to the Foxes.

I don't blame Klopp for this predicament so much as I blame FSG. Klopp has proven himself to be an astute manager, and what he achieved with BR's leftovers last season was resourcefulness at its' best.

But despite how Klopp overachieved with this squad last year, it's now blindingly clear that all the juice has been squeezed out of the lemon. Without FSG taking this club seriously and investing the money needed into bulking up the squad (especially in the midfield) then watching games for the meantime feels pointless- unless it's against top 6 sides. Unfortunately there are 13 other sides and every game against them is worth 3 points...

*Edit* You know the one thing worse than games like this? The comments that follow on social media. People who want Klopp sacked and think pissing vast amounts of money away like certain other sides not winning any major trophies is the way forward. Reading some of that hysterical nonsense gives me cancer!

aye aye Captain besides your edit part. (I'm not involved in social media)
Your description of Klopp squeezing out all he can since his start with us is all but dried up.
I was silly enough being I landed in Shanghai last night having had a crap sleep I watched this diabolical game of ours.
Having had the long break you'd think the squad would have been so up for this its not funny - they played our game of the early season, pressed us continuously and we were like in 2nd gear.
There was NO player who really looked as if they wanted to win, even the ones that are capable.
FSG better take note finally or much of the same no matter what Klopp does behind the scenes with the cattle will be same ol same ol.
We again only lift vsing the top clubs.

Bravo Burnley and with only 10 men most of the 2nd half :)

Just as they questioned the Fox players of last weeks performance you got to wonder about us.
A sound win typically against a top 6 club.
Can we beat Burnley next week ?????

Well, the point was better than nothing but doesn't place us in any better position tbh.
city and spurs have a game in hand whereas that crowd + arse behind us have 2 in hand.
its anyboys race when thinking about the last 3 spots till the end it seems.
Its looking likely the gooners will be more hot and cold than any of us therefore the toffees could well get over them as well as long as everyone keeps winning that is.

This saturday night sees the Reds hosting the Bitters in the Merseyside Derby. Kickoff is 1030pm, the match is LIVE on Optus and SBS.
These games at such a great kickoff time are a great opportunity to get along to an LFC NSW venue and watch the game with your fellow Reds.
LFC NSW will also be collecting donations for Heartbeat of Football at selected venues, and there will be a prize draw at halftime for those who donated.

Every single game counts now to the end for all.
Last round really went our way as long as you bank the 3points.
Losing Mane is a huge loss for us - not sure yet how long out :( more pressure now on Firmino and Coutinho to keep fit and perform.
We need Lallana and Hendo back pronto - even Sturridge may get a chance to step up the coming weeks.

Yes sir ! I have pre sale advise being a SFC member :)

Nice back from behind win against Stoke - another bogey team of ours.
Glad Kloppy sent out the Brazilians for the 2nd half changed the game for us.
Congrats Coutinho - highest scoring Brazilian in the EPL now.
