PETER ROLFE, Herald Sun SOCCER fans have lodged a complaint against celebrity chef George Calombaris, saying the MasterChef star should be banned from matches after clashing with a spectator. Melbourne Victory and the FFA confirmed a complaint was this week lodged, calling for Calombaris to be stripped of club membership and suspended from A-League games. The Victory fan was charged by police over an incident at Sunday’s A-League grand final against Sydney FC. The complaint called on the FFA and Victory to hit Calombaris with tough sanctions typically used to deal with a small minority of feral fans responsible for anti-social behaviour. “As George Calombaris is being charged, we would like assurance and confirmation that George Calombaris is currently undergoing the same scrutiny and process that any other person would,” it said. “So we would appreciate the results of this complaint to be that George Calombaris’ membership will be revoked and will be banned from attending future matches for this behaviour, as is standard procedure.” GEORGE CALOMBARIS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AFTER A-LEAGUE INCIDENT  George Calombaris is in more hot water after soccer fans lodged a complaint. MasterChef judge George Calombaris is expected to enter a plea when his assault case is next before the court.The 38-year-old did not appear when his matter was first mentioned in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday. The case was adjourned until August 10, when Calombaris will be expected to enter a plea. The Network Ten personality was charged last month for allegedly assaulting a man, 19, at the A-League grand final between Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium, which Sydney won. The Victory supporter apologised the next day saying he was disappointed he'd let the heckling of Sydney fans get to him. "I was offended by a spectator yelling out abusive and derogatory comments about my family," he said in a statement. "I'm truly sorry this has happened."
