I would have not watched the final 10 minutes but after the SM game i couldn't turn it off, the cup has had some wicked finishes.

Not to mention how muck possession City had at the end.

Scenes.

Best match I've been to this year. South really is a step up from the other Vic NPL clubs in terms of facilities and passion of the supporters.

All teams that qualified for the FFA Cup from Victoria have qualified in previous editions.

On NPL Vic aggregate (not including this season) those 4 teams are top 5 overall. Oakleigh is 4th.

A very strong Victorian representation.

Truth be told we didn't deserve to advance, our coach sabotaged the team with one of the most woeful set ups you will ever see, basically our kiwi international cb Luke Adams decided to go to Bali for a week, as the transfer window has just opened we don't have a replacement yet, so he takes a centre mid and plays him at rb (Luke pavlou), dugandzic obviously destroys him and he refuses to budge, then he plays our rb In the cb position, he is short and nowhere near good enough to handle the crossing and aerial threat of the bigger Dandenong side. With our defence exposed we set up in a defensive minded shape at home ffs, Ljubo was basically playing as a centre mid, despite the fact that our attack is our strength, we are set up to play like negative chickens at home.

The last 10 minutes put that down to the players, they just went for it and started moving the ball quickly throwing caution to the wind with the game all but lost, suddenly we start attacking in waves and what do you know dandy suddenly start crapping themselves despite having a picnic for the previous 80 minutes.

It was an amazing win, Dandenong have some quality players, dugandzic was a constant threat, Ljubo basically brought his own ball to the game, Kalmer did as he pleased in the middle of the park, they're npl1 level quality but it never should have reached that point.

Don't expect much from south in the 32 unless drastic changes are made to Chris Taylors cup game philosophy.

On a positive note, I believe with progression we may be signing kalfallah now.

The word around the place last week was that the khalfallah deal will be done provided we make the cup, so will be interesting to see how the next few days play out. Some are saying the deal is already done, others that it's close, would be a massive get.

Why hasn't Lujic been picked up by an A-league team yet? Would be a handy striker off the bench.

100% agreed. Dugandzic particularly in the first half was immense. Ljubo & his CB partner were outstanding. And Kalmar is clearly above that level IMO.

Was a great game to watch, such excitement all round.

South's 4th goal was offside though, stupid refs. EDIT: look below. I was wrong. Stupid me.

Credit to the commentators, they were brilliant. The cameraman particularly in the first half zoomed in way too much but I can't complain, sitting in my loungeroom in Newy getting live streamed FFA Cup Magic!!

Awesome game to watch, and yes I thought maybe Eager was offside too on the equalizing goal, but heres a pic from the other angle showing he is onside.

Been mentioned a few times over the past few years he isn't prepared to give up his teaching day job to earn a minimum HAL wage. Would be looking at a $25-30k wage drop. Nix were interested a little while back. I'm sure all clubs would have had a look in at some point.

Not just potential wage drop, but future job security drop. If he leaves for a year, does he have his normal job lined up as a "fallback"?

good news that all 4 suburban venues that teams qualified for the FFA Cup national stage round of 32 from Victoria are good enough to host fixtures against interstate member federation sides and also can host against any Hyundai A-League side.

Also that Kingston Heath Soccer Complex (Bentleigh Greens), ABD Stadium (Hume City), Olympic Village (Heidelberg United), Lakeside Stadium (South Melbourne) are all have good enough lighting lux to host for TV matches as well.

Highlight of the game for me was watching Marcus Schreon winding Ljubo up at the end.  I've nothing against, Ljubo, but it's always fun to see a young lad taking on an old pro.

He earns a decent wage playing for South & teaching PE. No use for him to lose money on a minimum wage HAL contract

It's amazing, had we won in a normal manner nobody would care, as it's turned out this is the best thing that's happened to the club in years, all over radio today, channel 9 news 6pm are gonna do a story on the come back, this has really blown me away.

Rofl. It was a shocking performance but a great turnaround and very typical of south so fair play. But lets be honest you should have won.

There must be a national second division on its way. No way would a state club make that much investment without inside knowledge.

For signing FBK? How is it any different to Bonnyrigg signing Terry Mcflynn?
