These soccer wogs always infighting and shooting themselves in the foot, good thing they'll never organise themselves.

An AGM where a board is elected sounds something like organisation TBH

I still think until there is P/R the 2nd division should run over the Australian winter. So the 2nd and A-League overlap and there are games 52 weeks (or pretty much) per year. That would mean a league would have to be set up by the start of next year. Who knows? but it feels tight. Otherwise they can play NPL next year and start after which isnt that optimal atm either. It does say "earliest" and not "latest".

that would be good for not crowding out the same market (die hard fans will go to both)
it will also mean that youth getting 10 games a year can go on loan and get another 20 odd in a 2nd division

the sooner this happens the better. It took the a league 7 years to start producing players that were good enough to jump into 2nd teir european leagues and do well throughout their first season. That means it could take till 2025 before a second division provides a sufficient boost to the quality of australian football at the top

Yeah, I think if the FFA was ever going to get onboard :), if they arent hopefully forced, they would want 2nd division games on different days in the same cities as A-League matches during the crossover. At least in the early days.

I think having 5 visa players per team is important also and would lift the quality dramatically. Teams will consolidated talent plus decent international signings/scouting wouldnt put them too far behind certain A-League teams today.

 ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIAN
FOOTBALL CLUBS

Level 1, 401 Malvern Road South Yarra VIC 3141 e:  assoc.FCA@gmail.com
  w:  www.australianfootballclubs.org.au

MEDIA RELEASE

21 June 2017

The Association of Australian Football Clubs, with 110 NPL club members, will next month hold its inaugural Annual General Meeting where members are expected to ratify the organisation’s new Constitution and new directors, formally representing each of the 8 federations.

The directors are drawn from National Premier League (NPL) clubs and will guide the organisation through its next phase. The inaugural directors will step down at the AGM

“This is the next step for the AAFC in achieving the objectives we set for ourselves in our inaugural national meeting in March. A great deal of work has been covered by our initial directors, steering committee and national delegates. I would like to thank them all for their diligence and hard work,” said Tom Kalas, chairman of the steering committee formed to manage the establishment of the AAFC.

The 8 directors nominated by each federation to be appointed after the adoption of the new Constitution are:

                ACT                        :               John Thiele
                NSW                      :               Gino Marra
                NNSW                   :               Christo Patsan
                QLD                       :              Rabieh Krayem
                SA                           :              Amin Ayoubi
                TAS                        :               Victoria Morton
                VIC                         :              Dean Hennessey
                WA                         :               Gary Marocchi

Collectively, the NPL clubs have coverage of more than 30,000 registered players of semiprofessional and amateur status, with responsibility for management of significant community assets through boutique football facilities and sporting infrastructure. They play a crucial role within the football framework developed by FFA and implemented by the state federations. The AAFC is charged with representing them in their dealings with the governing bodies.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on 3 July.

In 2017 the NPL clubs of Australia considered it necessary to form an organisation to represent their common interests as NPL clubs. This is particularly the case in light of discussions regarding changes to the FFA governance model.

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL CLUBS

The NPL clubs form the second tier of Australian football. They represent:

w:  www.australianfootballclubs.org.au

-          the largest segment of elite and developing elite footballers both male and female;
-          a specific and discrete segment of the game as structured by FFA;
-          management of Australia’s significant football land and infrastructure holdings;
-          a plethora of highly credentialed football administrators;
-          a pivotal contributor to the fabric of the football community; and
-          they include the clubs from which it is envisaged a new second division, fully integrated with the A-League, will be established.

We are of the view that a second division is essential for the future, long-term development of the game, as well as for Australia to meet FIFA and AFC requirements.

Wow what a board. Think I'll stay with the FFA

I have trouble understanding your problem.

Board members were put forward by federations (in a democratic process). I dont personally think that Fury should get in a 2nd division because they have not earned it on the pitch, however this would open up what you want. A team other than Fury to play in the Qld NPL from Townsville.

Ok I'm going to tell a story of 2 boys
1 is the perfect #9 he is the highest goal scorer in his age group. The other is the perfect wing back ( right) they have 2 things in common. 1 they were both rejected by the local NPL academy meaning they will never play for Queensland. 2 both of their fathers have spent time in her majesty's big house. I believe their crimes were fighting related ( not that I care ) but should the the boys be rejected because of their fathers?
Ps I believe both were chosen for state school boys.
This is why I can not support the NPL System.

For better or worse, there are endless stories of this kind all over Australia.  At any point in time, hundreds of kids are knocking on the door of such programs, and there are only limited spots.  The reality is that the gap between those who make it and those that don't is so fine as to be almost non-existent.

And so it will be for the majority of footballers throughout their careers - it's a very fine line between making it and bombing out.
