SBS reporting that Victory are firming up on bringing back Milligan as a Marquee. They say there have been multiple Saudi offers this week. Also, they are offering Milligan $200k more than Melbourne City offered Troisi. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/07/24/victory-closing-milligan-marquee-offer

Its a good point 6 moves in 5 years probably makes a coach nervous about loyalty so who was talking on DFS? Just a pundit with an opinion or someone talking about why they arent offering

+x+x+xI'm not a professional footballer, but even in my current profession I get satisfaction that isn't purely derived from getting paid every fortnight. And I've turned down higher paying jobs for ones that i get greater satisfaction out of. So I don't really see your point Bundoora Brah. Do you think all our best players should just go and play in the UAE and China so they can get paid as much as possible? True but a footballer only has a 10-15 year career compared to 40+ for most people. '40+ for most people' is a unfortunately becoming an outmoded concept these days. More than less will have more than one career over their working-life, even several as people have to operate in a less stable, certain and more flexible world of employment. Re-training or re-skilling is part-in-parcel of this. With some areas of work like Mining/Resources, it may be not unlike a professional sports-person; where you work relatively short-term, shorter-term periods, hard and intensive work for a higher-rate of pay, but less job security and depending on qualifications or lack of, less permanent or stable employment, longer term. No longer can you come out with a Graduate degree and expect to slide into a career that will take you into retirement. And the retirement age has been pushed back ever further too, as we live longer and with an aging population, have the threat of a shrinking tax base. Sorry to get off-topic. Not to mention a footballer of Troisi's calibre can already make more in 10 - 15 years than I expect to make in my working life. I agree the pay check is not everything. Once you have yourself "setup" there must be some sort of job satisfaction that comes into it.

Some squads still have plenty of room - some getting full. http://www.a-league.com.au/article/hyundai-a-league-contracted-list-club-by-club-guide/a76rg1ke9vv21xej6s9fnyozt17 AU 20 Roar 19 CCM 18 MC 14 MV 20 Jets 18 Perth 16 SFC 20 WP 24 WSW
Full trophy cabinet (but yours looks a bit empty) ! Reigning BACK2BACK 442 A League and World Cup (Mens and Womens) Tipping Champion - so yeap, I do know best !

Melbourne City midfielder Anthony Caceres is set to sign with UAE side Al Wasl after deciding the possibility of regular game time in the A-League this season is likely to be limited.

JVS connection. Makes sense.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Leeds United are interested in signing Burton Albion’s Jackson Irvine, according to HITC Sport. http://the72.co.uk/88416/leeds-join-fight-australian-international-midfielder/

+xCould be a great move for Good. probably a 50-50 chance of making it. If he does almost walks into the national team in a world cup year!

If Victory sign Milligan as well as Troisi, they look pretty formidable. These two would be close to the two best players in the league based on current form. Milligan is also a good organiser with vast experience and is second choice for Socceroo captain.

Joyce must be nuts to let Caceres go. All the best to him enjoying oil money and living in the boring and restrictive Middle-east. I'd prefer to see him back at CCM.

you always hope that the foreigners serving/playing here would rub off somewhere for australian players. despite his shortcomings under a cap i think JVS's expansive style could work really well if he has more flexibility with his signings. good will be playing in a very similar setup to the NT.

I'd prefer to see him back at CCM. it's a loss to melbourne city's squad. but caceres is past the point where he should be demanded a starting spot in his club. imo if he started every game for the last 2 seasons he would be a stand out amongst australian midfielders. sitting on the bench this much at his age is ruining his career. players like this are why we need a second division. if they are not getting the time in the current AL they need to be getting it somewhere - and quickly.

turns out the Hosine Bility transfer to FC Midtjylland was a fake news story.. it has supposedly made headlines in Holland. Croydon has shut down the rumours. If there was another circus going on right now, i suspect this would have been a bigger deal. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/local-soccer-sa/croydon-kings-player-hosine-bility-makes-danish-headlines-for-signing-that-is-simply-not-true/news-story/e0e5e359c37cbe5fc6bbbaa5f783617f

there's a fair bit of buzz about Jackson Irvine in the U.K. over the last 24 hours following the news of the Leeds interest. This reporter said that there is a "bidding war" between; Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, and Fulham... - he has now been linked with about half the clubs in the championship and at least one in the EPL. http://www.footballinsider247.com/strange-one-leeds-fans-respond-speculation-club-bidding-war-midfielder/

Genuinely surprised at the lack to Tom Rogic rumours this off season. Normally he features in this. Following one of his best and most consistent seasons you would expect much much more rumourism to be getting around. Am I missing something???? SBS did say that there were EPL rumours a couple months ago.. Maybe Brendan Rodgers will take him with him after this season. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/05/31/rogic-primed-stay-celtic-amid-epl-rumours
