8/10 squads are almost completed. and the two that aren't (Vuck and Sydney) look very good, so who has the best squad with the start line only weeks away now?

Each year I love the squad WSW put together and each year it disappoints me. This year is no different.

What's the point of adding a poll without including all 10 teams?

+xWhat's the point of adding a poll without including all 10 teams? When you create a Poll youcan have 10 options. Unfortunately 442 only didplays the first 5 snd they cant be bothered to fix it If they only cared about the top 6 it would be funny

Sydney again look very strong. Both Melbourne teams seem to be shaping up very well However I quite like the WSW squad, Riera and Cejudo look like very good attacking signings, Bonevacia is quality for the midfield and the defence looks quite good.

I think the biggest factor will what formation teams select - Roar will favour a back 3 as will Victory I recon.

Kinda striking how even with a salary cap to supposedly even out the comp the Sydney and Melbourne teams seem to be dominant, on paper at least. It isn't entirely predictable but so far if I was going to pick a top four teams on paper I would be leaning towards both sydney teams and both melbourne teams (maybe city a bit behind because they are city). Since the Marquee spots for all four of these teams is not filled with super star players, it says a great deal about the basic advantage of being in one of the bigger cities.

Yep, thats why we need more teams there. Starting with the Shire and South Melbourne.

@ Eniri
People say the same thing every season but the league table doesn't lie - the two Melbourne and two Sydney teams don't dominate every year. Wanderers barely made finals last year, Victiry barely made it the year before, in fact the year before SFC didn't even make finals and City have never finished above 4th. But if you believe everything you read in the media lol ...

After intense counselling, an advantage with the non Australian marquee rule and some of the worst A-League football in years from other clubs he bounced back. He will not have a GF hangover again, win or lose. Roar seem at their worst point since their last GF win, even with all the off field stuff that went on. Also BR finished 7th the year after they last won, but yeah PG cap.

People say that about Roar every season though. It's almost like the annual event to write them off but where's the analysis?
Theo is better than most keepers, Avraam the best CB in the comp, Kristensen is an outstanding DM, Maccarone played Serie A a few months ago, Holman is no slouch or MacKay. The bulk of their squad is settled and stable and they've got 4 great youngsters to see them through the ACL period.
But they're been written off again?

Fans writing off other teams is nothing new or means much at the end of the day, happens every season and every season most people never get it right. It is the same with new imports, people love to get on the hype train or slag them off based on their stats, past clubs and age when it has been shown, it really means nothing going by some of the best not well known imports that have graced the A-League. Just enjoy the ride.

You might be right. But you're not basing that on any educated analysis because there hasn't been any.
As an example, it's reported as a problem that Roar have lost 37 year old Broich but it's also a problem they've signed a 38 year old from Serie A. Both can't be a problem.
Roars biggest issue will be if Aloisi can't make a back 3 work. Not with the squad make up.
Sydney and Victory won't finish in the top 2, the ACL will cripple them.
Can City do a Bradbury in that case?
And can wanderers make their annual squad purge work - they need goals to win games but couldn't buy them last year? If the latest million dollar marquee gamble doesn't pay off they'll be relying on the 35 year old Santalab. If he was a Roar player that would be a problem but not if he plays for a Sydney side apparently?
I don't know what you lot read down south but I think you're smoking something

SFC..as good as last year MV...Better than last year
MC...If they get a decent second marquee, better than last year, defence looks stronger and their front three if fit can score better than anyone. If the top two falter during the acl, they could finally finish top.But they are City heart.so probably not. WSW..More goals than last year.Santalab,Bridges and Riera should keep them near the top.
Top four ,then daylight to a cluster of..
CCM...better than last year if their striker can score,If PG ends up with three spaniards, they will,be better, but always suspect away,AU...better than last year ,but not much depth.BR ...no better than last year, unless they get a playmaker, but slower with old players, more injuries ,a weak in midfield and acl again ,NJ,WP..both better than last year..but not much.
You can toss a coin for the last six.If none of them pick up another decent player then they are just making up numbers.

SFCs goalkeeper probably earnt SFC an extra 10 points last season. Not sure if they are as strong and was surprised no visa gk was brought in.
