It comes down to what we do , win well and we'll go through, I think the biggest thing that needs to happen on Tuesday night, is the fans have to bring the noise, if it's flat like every other NT game, then we won't get the goals we need. I remember Iran in 1997 , the first 30 mins we should of scored 6 and the joint was absolutely rocking and I think we underestimate what a rocking crowd , can do for a side. So anyone going on Tuesday, needs to go hard and bring the thunder, I know I won't have a voice on Wednesday.

Don't think Smith will start. Kruse will start I am sure and is the best option out wide in my opinion.

+x+x+xHey guys. Japanese poster here, here to tell you some things from our end. - Our captain Makoto Hasebe announced his withdrawal from the Japanese team flying to Saudi Arabia. He underwent a major knee operation during the off season at Eintracht Frankfurt so the management will not risk anything in a dead rubber game. Significant loss for us due to his big game experience and composure in midfield. - Shinji Kagawa withdrawn and returning to Borussia Dortmund. Management not risking aggravating his recent shoulder injury. - Vahid Halilhodzic will be with the team in Saudi Arabia. Strong rumours circulating post-Australia game that he was planning to temporarily flying back to France due to personal reasons (Illness in close member of his family). - Keisuke Honda most likely to start in Saudi Arabia but given he is obviously short of match fitness and recent poor form at club level I am not sure this will be a positive inclusion to the team. - Manager is strongly pushing for a changing of the guard (Kagawa/Honda/Okazaki) and remains to be seen whether inexperienced Ideguchi can back it up two games in a week. Many in the team may be making their national team debuts so it will be interesting as no one (Except maybe Maya Yoshida) are guaranteed a ticket to Russia. - Weather forecast 38 degrees in Jeddah on Tuesday. - Japanese media worried about the influence of the (Corrupt?) referee on outcome as Saudi Arabia have received countless dubious penalties this qualifying round. 99% of us want to see Australia in Russia 2018 over the Middle East. Best of luck against Thailand! I am not sure if you are right to say 99% of Japanese want the Socceroos to win. I don't know where you got the figure from. Hope you did not make that up to suck up to the forum members. I like the way Korea and Japan go about their football. Mates of mine off forum used to say Japan was soft, but recently there little evidence of gamespersonship in their football. I've lived in the ME. It is very much part of their culture in time wasting, and using gamespersonship to win. Ironically, Cahill put one over the UAE with blatant pushing his marker out of position and scoring for Aus! FFS ! 'Gamespersonship'?! What next? Even the women in the Div 1 games I ref call 'man on' rather than 'person on'. Seem they're more broadminded than some SJW from a Tasmanian backwater.

(REUTERS) - Japan's players had to scramble to training in taxis ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia after their team bus failed to show up at their hotel. The hosting federation bears responsibility for a visiting team's logistics but the Samurai Blue, who have already booked their ticket to Russia, put a positive spin on the inconvenience ahead of Tuesday's (Sept 5) match in Jeddah. "I don't think I've ever shared a taxi with team-mates (to the training ground), not even in my youth-team days," defender Tomoaki Makino said in comments published by Kyodo news agency. "But there are a lot of experienced players in our team and you have to enjoy this kind of situation. You can't let it wind you up." Get The Straits Times newsletters in your inboxJapan Football Association officials told Kyodo that the bus was stuck in traffic caused by the end of the Haj pilgrimage. Coach Vahid Halilhodzic and his players eventually made it to Al-Ahli Saudi FC's home stadium where practice began 20 minutes late. Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima said his team remained focused despite the snag. "It was an enjoyable trip and there's nothing wrong with experiencing (something like that) for the first time," he said. "Whether or not it was intentional, I don't know, but there is no point in getting stressed out about it. We just have to keep our focus on the task at hand." Saudi Arabia are second behind Japan in Group B of Asian qualifying. A win over the Samurai Blue and a loss or a draw for Australia in their home match over Thailand in Melbourne on Tuesday will guarantee the Saudis direct qualification to Russia. The third-placed side in the group can still qualify for Russia but must negotiate a tortuous series of play-offs. I swear if we don't have at least 10 shots on target and 15 corners against the ladyboys, I Will top myself. Need to score at least 5 knowing the dirty Saudis will be try I my to pull a dodgy one later vs japan. If I see more than 3 passes between our defenders without crossing the halfway line I will top myself. If I see players with chance to run at defenders and instead retreat with a coward backward pass I Will top myself

Metro trains doing work on the Lilydale line and running a reduced timetable with buses between Burnley and Box Hill. It will take 2 or more hours to get home for anyone east of Ringwood. Worlds most liveable city my arse!

Thailand offering a juicy14-1 just for a draw. Australia are at short odds to win,if Thailand can park the bus and hit on the counter like they do against our youth teams, they have a chance to get a draw. It wouldnt be the first time an overwhelming favourite failed to deliver.

Don't you think it's ironic that you're being hypersensitive about his being hypersensitive? I always find it weird that people who bitch about 'SJWs' and the world getting soft always seem to be so triggered by the most insignificant bullshit. I think saying "gamespersonship" is completely unnecessary, but if you don't like it, dont use it. The world will keep spinning and everything will be okay.

I'm thinking it'll be Ryan Sainsbury Milligan Wright Leckie Mooy Luongo Gersbach Kruse Rogic Juric I think we'll see something very close to this. Kruse is an asset still. Thailand are going to probe a lot with their speed. Remember the goal they scored in Brisbane? Blitz down the line and a great cross. Luongo is in good form. His movement is good and his passing is decent. We need to let him play again. He won a lot of duels but he and Irvine needed to shut down that second goal. I think Cahill needs to starts with Juric and get it done. Leckie is in good form and needs to be higher up like at Berlin.

Milovan Rajevac took over after Kiatisuk Senamuang's resignation and quickly made better defending a priority. Only a lapse in added time at home to the United Arab Emirates in June prevented Thailand from claiming their first win and clean sheet of the campaign, though the 1-1 draw did give them their second point. At home to Iraq on Thursday, it was again a late goal that did the damage as Saad Abudulameer's 85th-minute penalty gave the visitors a 2-1 win in Bangkok. By that point, the Thais were down to 10 men, and it was a needlessly conceded penalty that handed the visitors three points. Put into perspective, this means that under Rajevac, the reigning Suzuki Cup champions have conceded three times in two qualifiers, with one goal coming in the 93rd minute and one from a penalty. In addition, wins over weakened North Korean and Belarusian sides in July's King's Cup tournament were achieved with two clean sheets. While this hardly represents particularly impressive form, it does suggest that winning by a three-goal margin may not be so straightforward. http://www.espnfc.com.au/blog/football-asia/153/post/3194696/thailand-wont-roll-over-for-socceroos-after-defensive-improvements
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Yeah they've had a lot of practice of late. That Belarus side was an 11 from their league with almost none ever having a cap. I expect they'll be organised. Their number 8 got 2 yellows but he was making his debut anyway. They'll have some experienced players out there. Gone are the days of playing amateurs. Full time pros now.
