+xBoz is an idiot. Getting weirdly personal here Yeah, it's a long bow to draw to say that the row between the FFA and PFA is still impacting anything at this point. Weird connection to make.

+xEthiopia. We couldn't properly beat a team that is ranked_below_Ethiopia Thailand are a decent team, silky skills on the counterattack and stupidly committed defending. Chanatip and a couple others would make Australia squads. I dont get how people can still underestimate how good these asian nations are ATM

+xThings are pretty tense on the Fox Sports Panel. Bozza is clearly furious. Aloisi is defending Ange while Bozza and Slater are clearly fed up with him. They are more than implying that Ange's job should be under intense scrutiny. Good.

Yeah exavctly, like i get that its dissapointing that we've made qualifying more difficult than it had to be but at least we're working toward being an actual quality football nation. For Ange to continually resist the urge to go back to pragmatic football and force us to try and dominate games deserves respect

Not a penalty for Thailand for me. Sains grabbed his arm but the Thai player immediately changed his stance to go down and it was still just outside the box anyway. Additionally, Sainsbury got a foot through to move the ball.

+xAaron Mooy made 118 passes in #AUSvTHA, the most of any player in a single game at Round 3 of Asian #WCQ2018. Machine. And he lost 3 kg's due to illness before the game

Rogic seemed to lack spark or maybe just space? We had shots, but many were too direct or from distance. We were often lacking diagonal passing in behind or some creative way of breaking a stacked defense. Indeed for the number of corners the number that led to a shot was very small. We had a height advantage yet at corners could rarely use it. Still transitioned slowly and the thais stacked their goal area

+x+xWell at least Australia won and did all it could. Good luck RE Saudi game. But at least Australia did what they could. 3 points is still 3 points. Australia got 3 points. Glad to have a Kiwi around that doesn't incite hatred towards NZ.

Surely Milicic isn't blind to the issues. Can he get into Ange's ear at all? Perhaps he loves Ange's favourites too. The squad was pretty good overall. We really need to start introducing Chapman, Jurman, Burgess, O'Neill, Elder among others into the set up. Thankfully Josep has them set up for camps.

It was 2-1 against the bottom team, that parked the bus and was surely one of the smallest teams we have played against. We pounded them, but lets not forget, they had nothing to play for and our aggregate against them is +1 goals. We have conceded 3 goals against them. It's just not good enough. Three at the back is not the answer.Given tonight was the best we could play,we still can only squeak a win. Our players need more space to score, they are not good enough to crack compact defences and they always look vulnerable on the counter attack. And we really need to have a team and approach that speeds up transition from defence to attack. This sideways and backwardmpassing on counterattacks is mindnumbing.

They are more than implying that Ange's job should be under intense scrutiny. I would add to, besides it is Anges fault, we can blame FFA for some of this. Ange picks the team , the style the instructions and we are not producing. Weather, away games, travel were not a problem in the last 2 qualification campaigns. FFA try to maximise revenue whereever possible. So we end up playing Greece and even Brazil.... At the same time FFA sign tv deals with Foxtel which pretty much block us from playing in the ASEAN Cup because A-League teams would lose players. That tournament is a class A tournament now and gives us more Asian exposure. We dont play matches that will improve us in Asia, only the FFAs income. In the end it may cost them $10 million if we fail. Ironicallt they will get bonus money if we have to qualify through playoffs. We dont need to play England & Argentina when we struggle in Asia to win games. Even try playing North African teams. Hopefully there is clause in his contract that he is gone if we dont qualify directly. I dont want him now, even if we get across the line tonight. I would hate for him to get sacked and a payout.

The speed in transition was better for this game Not enough credit given to the Thai coach. Serb? Would we able to hold out like they did- we'd rather lose 0-3.

I don't think Rogic does enough to protect the ball, for every good thing he does he gives it up just as easily.

I know what he means. He doesn't want Ange to test crazy thing in games that matter. That's what friendly games are for. Anges doesn't believe in those.

Got back and it took me 45min to read all the comments... Wow I think some of you guys are letting your frustration colour your opinion of the game. That performance was pretty good compared to the last 12 months, and most players performed pretty well, except for the back 3 and Ryan. Oh and except for the end product.
Some of our shots were rubbish hopeful efforts, but we had enough good shot chances that on any other day we add an extra 2 at least. Look at our results this campaign... The end result was pretty much exactly what we should have expected.

Australia v Thailand video, highlights: Ange Postecoglou reacts to narrow WCQ win- DAVID WEINER@davidweiner9
- Source: FOX SPORTS
Ange Postecoglou after Australia v ThailandSource: FOX SPORTSIN the end, it was one question too many for Ange Postecoglou. When asked how he assessed the overall World Cup qualifying campaign given Australia had lost just once, but found themselves waiting anxiously to learn their Group B fate, the Socceroos boss threw his hands in the air. “It’s been unbelievable. It’s been magnificent,” he erupted. “I’ve been sitting here frustrated for the last two years listening at some of the garbage thrown at these players. “It’s tough qualifying for a World Cup, even tougher when it’s the first one for a lot of these guys. “They’ve played 10 games. Lost one. “They’ve done everything I’ve asked of them. “I’m the one putting them out there to win games of football. “You know what … yeah that’s all I’ll say.” Postecoglou couldn’t comprehend that the side had only prevailed 2-1 against Thailand on a night they needed to win by several goals to really put the heat on Saudi Arabia. “It’s heartbreaking for the players,” he said. “They were brilliant tonight; stuck to the game plan and had 40 plus shots, good chances that didn’t go in “If we’d got one a bit earlier we may have opened them up a bit. “I thought they didn’t get their rewards tonight from a brilliant performance.” But, he said he never got frustrated, or anxious, because of the temerity of his players. “The players really stuck at it - they didn’t get frustrated so I didn’t. “They kew what they needed to do … (they had) really good opportunities and it’s a game of inches. “They were calm and calculated in their processes. “Even at one each they could have got deflated. But they found the character and resilience ...” He added: “We just played some really good football - it’s exactly how I want my teams to play “They performed their task and they did all they could tonight.”
