+x+xLeichhardt Oval is just perfect for football. Why do SFC persist with the SFS? Lets see what happens, the news stories at the moment say SFS is going to get renovated/rebuilt and Leichhardt is going to be our home while it happens. Would be nice. Leichhardt would be perfect for our youth teams, as a training ground and to play pre-season, W-League, occasional a-league matches...as a base. But it is in the middle of nowhere, has no parking, inadequate transport, would require 50% of our crowd to stand, at the mercy of the elements.....so no, SFS is fine thanks, sorry if that ruyins your TV experience.

That was a nice goal, awful defending to keep him onside though.

Heidelberg posted an attendance of 3967. Hard to believe that one.

I am not sure that the TV experience is any different. In any case my point was that it would be nice if SFS gets renovated/rebuilt. I don't hate it like some people seem to but it could be much better, and I don't mind Liechhardt in the meantime if it means a better home ground.

Do the fox sports commentators purposely phrase questions really weirdly when asking foreign players questions?

Leichhardt in the middle of nowhere? It's in the middle of Sydney you clown. Perfect venue if the SFS gets renovated.

Surprised by that as it seemed like more. I guess the majority of the capacity is that hill area that looked closed off.

Heidelberg must have had 2,000 on the near camera side for the crowd to have been almost 4K? If legit that's solid on a brutally cold day/night in Melbourne.

Yeah I'm hoping someone here was at the game and can report. I watched the stream but never got a shot of the other side of the ground. No idea if it was open or not. Can't see why it would be though... there's a 10m wide stand and nothing else. If the near side was closed and they make that crowd out to be roughly the same as the Sydney FC crowd then I would call bullshit.

Heidelberg entire ground is always open, saw a quick snapshot of it during the game and the near side didn't look that much, but it is a huge ground so can be deceptive.

If sydney had a had a league home game there we would pull 10k+ easy I don't hate Leichhardt Oval for one or two matches but if we had a season or two of games there I'd stop being a member and going to matches. Today I left work early so I could catch the train an hour home to drive an hour and a half back in to Leichhardt. The other option was to walk, seems to take just as long as catching a train from Town Hall then jumping on a tram at Central, to and from the CBD and catch the train home. I'd like the walk but that would get me home well after 12:30. I'd rather Edensor Park.

And edensor park has transport links where exactly ? Nearest train stations are 10 minutes drives away, easily an hour walk...
Edensor park is perfect for Sydney United. They would pull 4-5k with their eyes closed in the a-league. And for a suburban club that is good. They would also pull that figure for a second division with promo relegation.
Heidelberg getting almost 4K Sydney getting 4K
So npl teams matching a-league teams crowd wise in the fa cup....
Can you imagine these clubs were able to fight for promotion.... crowds would increase, investment would increase. Investment in youth and facilities would increase... investment into the football landscape would increase... but FFA have "metrics"..., when real metrics are right there infront of them... football has potential. But only with an open system. In a closed system all we are doing is stalling development, stalling clubs, holding back football in this country.
It really is a shame.
