This is one night that we as a football community need to show our support to the game, for to the women playing the game at all levels.

Amazing how after 1 visit by the AFL to play a game in China, how quickly professional sport in China has happened that they now sending a women's team to Australia to play football (hope they know it's the world game one). Thank you AFL.

Credit where it's due here. We wouldn't even have had womens sport if the AFL didn't invent women last year.

The one week I'm out of the state!! Would've been a heap of fun to attend. Great news regardless, and good to see regular games against good opposition too!

I mean if Penrith and Newcastle can get solid crowds, Melbourne should be excellent. Can this trend travel around the country? I can't even remember when the Matildas last played in Australia? It was probably recently but the promotion and media exposure has been so high. Is it a campaign of sorts?

They have only played the 2 games against NZ in Ballarat and Melbourne mid last year since May 2015 on Australia soil.

I'm hoping NZF can grab a game against the Chinese why'll there down under. The football Ferns could use the matches.
