I'm glad Lily Homes Stadium has been used during the FFA cup during this years edition. From previous year I don't think it had the required LUX levels for A League encounters but obviously there's been some investment made recently to bring it up to scratch.
Sold out matches like tonight go a long way to recouping these sorts of investments

Yeah it's Gabbie Stadium. Blacktown City played there in the NSL in the 80s

Hands down the worst team we have played this season, maybe on par with St. Albans.

South Melbourne with a home tie against Sydney FC. Fuck yeah! Perfect occasion for them to showcase to the FFA why they should be the league. I would expect min 7-8k considering there will be neatrals there for the show.

And also there's a strong chance of a Sydney derby FFA cup final which would really ignite the cup finals interest.
Hopefully if it does come down to that, it doesn't coincide with any other derbies near the date to dour the fixture.

http://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/ffa-cup-final-to-be-rescheduled-for-matildas-match-against-china-20170920-gylext.htmlSo it looks like the final will be same weekend as the Matildas match. Matildas knocking the FFA Cup Final off its perch, go girls!

It's almost like Fox & the LUX required to broadcast in HD didn't exist 30 years ago.. +x@ ultimate If looked like they had at least two temporary floodlights brought in Yeah they worked with the council to rent temp floodlights for the CCM game & this one. They had to paint over the 6 a side lines as well

If the FFA want Wednesday night matches then SM vs Sydney on 18th October and WSW vs Adelaide on 25th October probably fits best with the Rounds 2-4 A-league fixture (WSW vs Adelaide also works OK on the 24th).

Very impressed with Blacktown, 3 weeks after being knocked out of the NSWNPL final series they put up a great fight to WSW and looked much fitter from the 60th minute on, a shame they couldn't hold onto their lead in extra time. They have given it to 3 A-League clubs over the last 6 weeks. If these guys trained full time along with a couple more foreigners (NPL only allows 2) they wouldn't be out of place in the A-League. South Melbourne looked to be playing some decent football from what I caught of the game too, looking forward to watching their semi.

Surely a clear sell out for the one and only game their fans would bother to attend. Heard it here all season long that if Sth play at home against an Aleague team (never mind it being against the champions), that their fan base will come out for the one and only big match. Apparently they have all been hiding during the NPL match up matches in the FFA cup. Nowhere to hide this time. Expect 10k minimum (at the very least) for the team that likes to go on about being the biggest in Australia with all the #metrics they like to throw out..

Sydney won't even bring 30 people down, realistically we would be looking to match the Wollongong v Sydney attendance, so something close to 8k, if we hit 5 digits for this you may as well throw city out now. Either way the npl v interstate A league team crowd record will be broken easily,

Would it be Canberra Olympic vs Sydney FC, that was over 5,000 if I remember correctly
