Jerks line-up. 1-0 up after a Hoole peach of a goal from range

It's an understrength Wanderers side but we're playing very well. Hoole and Nabbout look verys harp and fit, Nordstrand is dangerous, Kokko can hold the ball up well, Brown & Ugarkovic very effective in the middle, Boogaard very composed. Add Labi & Poljak to the squad and we have a solid side. Plus one more space for a foriegner but who knows if they will or can fill that

So yeah, where was this sort of shit from Hoole last year from us? Bloody Newcastle conspiracy, innit. It's your revenge for us turning Ali Abbas into a fucking superstar and sending you Michael Bridges (via England).
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

Former West Adelaide Hellas player, Johnny Koutroumbis has been signed on an injury replacement contract until the end of the 2016-17 season Johnny Koutroumbis (R) Photo: Adelaide United Former West Adelaide Hellas player Johnny Koutroumbis may not be a household name yet, but the versatile 18-year-old may soon come to the attention of a national audience after landing an A-League contract with Newcastle Jets last week. The Jets announced the signing of the Adelaide United Youth player on an injury replacement contract until the end of the 2016-17 season following a season-ending injury to defender Daniel Alessi. Koutroumbis, who can play either in midfield or defence, was signed by the Jets' new senior coach Mark Jones, who was Koutroumbis' coach during the 2016 SA NPL season with Adelaide United NPL youth team. Jones, who himself was only appointed just before the season as the Jets new head coach, is confident the young South Australian is ready to take the step up from state senior football to the A-League. Speaking on the Newcastle Jets website he said, "Johnny played in multiple roles for us in the youth team in Adelaide and has spent time training with their first team. He is someone I think can do well in the Hyundai A-League, and now it is up to him to showcase himself the best he can". "For a young boy Johnny is a leader. He is an exceptional athlete and has good endurance and is quick. He is a winner and did some special things that helped win us some games in Adelaide last season. "He is well-grounded and is very hungry to play in the A-League. He's over the moon to be given an opportunity in Newcastle," Jones said. It's a long way from where Koutroumbis began junior football as a six-year-old at West Adelaide Hellas. The precocious Koutroumbis made his SA NPL senior debut in 2014 as a 16-year-old under West Adelaide coach Paul Pezos, who had also athrough the junior and youth ranks at West Adelaide. He left West Adelaide midway through 2015 to join Adelaide United, where he put in a strong season for its NPL side in 2016. All in all he's played 33 NPL games. Speaking on the Jets' club website, Koutroumbis said: "I am pretty excited for what the future holds. I am actually lost for words with regards to how quickly it [signing with Newcastle Jets] has happened over the past week. "Now that I am here, one of my goals would have to be to start an A-League game and be in the first eleven at some point this season. Personally I am also aiming to score a goal for the club this season."

Jets hoping price is right for in-demand O'DonovanNewcastle Jets believe the ultimate destination of transfer target Roy O'Donovan will come down to "dollars and cents" as the Central Coast Mariners marksman considers his next career move. By Dave Lewis 7 MAR 2017 - 5:23 PM UPDATED 1 HOUR AGO The 31-year-old Irishman, who has notched 10 goals this season, is off contract in June and the Jets are competing with Western Sydney Wanderers, Adelaide and the Mariners for his signature. Jets football operations manager Joel Griffiths is an avowed O'Donovan fan and makes no secret of his desire to bring him to the Hunter. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/03/07/jets-hoping-price-right-demand-odonovan

Yes this season sucked. However there were performances from players that deserve to be recognised. These are the only Jets awards where all supporters can vote on categories involving all players (with a minimum of 5 appearances). So please go to the link and cast your votes. We will present trophies to the winners at the final training session in May. http://www.newcastlefootball.net/home/2017/04/2017-jetstream-end-of-season-awards/

+xRumours emanating from the Promised Land that Ernie Merrick has been offered the Jerks gig Apparently down to Steve Kean and Big Bad Ernie, foreign marquee is confirmed for next season also as said by The Griff Don't know his contract situation but we should throw money at Spiranovic. Him, Boogs, Georgevski and the mighty Jason Hoffman in a backline will make you wet your chastity belts

Please enjoy one of the loosest podcast sessions we've ever recorded with the Jetstream Podcast's 2017 Season Review episode. Tbh, partially drunk is the only way most of us could handle dissecting the season just gone. http://www.newcastlefootball.net/home/2017/05/the-jetstream-review-s12-im-looking-forward-to-bernie-skerrick/Thanks to all those who listened, downloaded, subscribed, commented etc throughout the season, and we look forward to bringing you even more content in Season 13.

http://www.theherald.com.au/story/4919164/jets-set-to-strike-on-marquee/?cs=305Namedrops Patty Rodriguez as well as a Venezuelan midfielder. Could possibly be Ronald Vargas - currently free agent and was at AEK last season, great pedigree. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Vargashttps://www.transfermarkt.com/ronald-vargas/profil/spieler/72567

Interesting, good to see the Jets going after a marquee. So they're both being considered as a marquee?

+xInteresting, good to see the Jets going after a marquee. So they're both being considered as a marquee? The way I understand it, they're only signing one. Almost definitely only one marquee. We only have 2 squad spots left to fill. One will go to this South American target, and the other is being saved for a Chinese import. However, we have given Daniel Alessi permission to talk to other clubs and we signed Jake Adelson as his seemingly replacement, so potentially we could have an extra spot lined up there. And we do have 3 visa spots available..

Already appears shabow has jumped ahead of him. Just dont see him fitting in anywhere.

I think with Lawrie McKinna running the place, Ernie as coach & a very decent squad this could be a good season for the Jets, destroying a team in the first round is going to do wonders for their confidence & morale.
