So FFA semi-finals dates have been announced. Sydney FC get their semi between Round 1 and Round 2 on Wed 11 Oct so no midweek before the Derby Wanderers get their semi between the Derby and the away game against the Jet.
Looks like Sydney are again the FFA favourites.
GAllop out now

I would have thought the earlier week would be south melbournes preference, only 3 weeks between games not 4 or 5. The match is on the night after the 2nd leg of the playoff with Syria so will be a big week of football.
Personally I would have had the games on in the same week rather than 2 weeks apart.

Helps us with team selection, already one player that was set to miss because of a planned overseas trip earlier this season will now play.
Only downside is it's almost exactly 2 weeks away so less time to build up from an off field point of view.

Rob Greenwood, The Advertiser THE state’s amateur soccer clubs will on Tuesday night vote on a proposal to unite the sport for the first time in a decade. Representatives of SA Amateur Soccer League clubs will gather at a special general meeting at Grange Reserve to pledge their support or opposition to affiliation with Football Federation SA. If backed, the move would unite the two associations – which have been divided since 2007 – under the Football Federation Australia umbrella. It would vastly increase the total number of registered players in the state, which in turn was expected to double SA’s representation in the national FFA Cup from one team to two. Amateur clubs would also be eligible to enter the preliminary rounds of the knockout competition for the first time. Speaking at FFSA’s awards night on Saturday, federation president Sam Ciccarello said he had been encouraged by the discussions with the SAASL. “While this is not across the line, I would like to offer the (FFSA) board’s thanks and appreciation to SASSL president Bill Bailey ... and their secretary-general Alex Cichanowski for their positivity and collaborative approach to this whole of football matter,” Ciccarello said. State treasurer Tom Koutsantonis also threw the government’s support behind the proposal when addressing the FFSA function. If approved, the affiliation would take effect from next year. It is understood the model would allow the SAASL to continue to operate as an incorporated and autonomous body. It would also maintain amateur clubs’ equal voting rights in the management of their league.

A bit conflicted on this one ...
Wife’s from Adelaide so they’ve kinda become my second team ....
But I want to see a Sydney Derby Final ...
But if we get a Sydney Derby Final the ffa will stuff it up by hosting it at ANZ and over pricing tickets so we get a 15k crowd ...
Oh the conflict ... c’mon you ???

Youd think Balmains ground would be the best for tv but FFA are going to go for the cash every time. TBH I wouldnt be surprised if they use it if AU win. But ANZ will probably pay FFA to play there.

+x+xHow is that not a red card? Fucking hell Aussie refs are weak Squared that one up no worries No comparison between the two tackles. Isaias's was not good but Bonevacia was terrible. I really like Bonevacia as a player but that is a disgrace.

Someone else might need to step up to ensure Roly gets his interest payment

Getting in early. If Adelaide were to win would FFA consider Hindmarsh for a fleeting moment? Adelaide did sellout its first FFA Cup final and it was a great advertisement for the competition. Or would it be Sydney because Sydney?

It would be controversial after SFCs moan last year. Considering they have had one I think Sydney will host.
