Our conceded goals have been shit and unnecessary. The other chances we had were so close. In these games you then need to focus on everything else between the goals and we've been woeful. So annoying.

And you know what was indicative? Half-time, the subs warming up on the pitch - the Koreans practising close-quarters inter-passing with pressing players. Not sure what the drills are called, but close quarters passing under pressure. All dozen of them or so, squeezed into the bottom left corner of the pitch.
What were we doing? Taking up the whole right side of the pitch, two defenders practising long, slow diagonal passing and two sets of three players just straight passing to each other in a triangle, very slowly, very chill. So mundane and went for the whole of half time.
Same time - Koreans energetic, organised in their drills, doing the close-quarters stuff, then occasionally periodic sprints as a group half up that third of the pitch and back.
I swear, do our players even do such drills?! I presume Gombau or the like encourages this. But to see the players just doing that and the Koreans doing what they were doing - no wonder they do that in the game, as they practice it. We don't/can't even practice such drills or aren't bothered/taught to?!

Well good on the team, as Koreans relaxed with lead and tiring late in game, we're finally finding our shooting boots and no surprise, it wasn't Blackwood involved in the goals. He's been his usual horrible. We will have to rely on the players around him and those numbers in the box.
Will a draw help us?

I always think it is Blackwood but twitter says Popovic or someone else. We've gone close multiple times. Weird match.

I hope Blackwood proves me wrong, but for a supposed #9, it's little wonder he struggles for goals. Some of the same issues he's faced in the A-League, have been exposed here.

Can always be optimistic once De Silva gets on the ball. Just a shame little support with the channels and runs. This disjointed team tends to be stagnant, like most Australia representative teams.

BTW Somebody asked earlier what McGree had been up to, to have been playing so poor - The answer is nothing much as he's lacked senior football ever since his move overseas. He will have to start all over again, not unlike De Silva's scenario, with his loan stint with the Jets. It's an utterly frustrated phenomenom and has affected many young and even not so young players. Even Terry Antonis, returning again after struggling for consistent football overseas.

Cowburn in the thick of it. Atleast he's stepping up. He's one of the over-agers.
Their goalkeeper treating this as a joke. Love to spoil his fun with the mocking, hope he makes a gaffe.

Gerbach has looked ordinary too and again, a partial culprit seems to be lack of recent senior football and he's itching for a move.
No surprise it's Blackwood who heads over the bar from close-quarters... again!

The players top of the box are useless, predictable 2-3 touches and a shot attempt, easily blocked. But again, with stagnant players, perhaps no other option.
We're wasting opportunities and time now.

Popovic should be the #9, he's a good technical player so can see why he's played wide with Blackwood on the pitch, but we'd be more effective with he being the target man inter-playing with De Silva.
Great opportunity with the close header for Cowburn at the end there, but no power and too easy for their keeper.
Game ended. SK 3 - AUS 2

+xthoughts on susnjar? does he play in the same league as GolGol? Susnjar had a pretty good tournament. You can see he's been playing regularly. Unfortunately he's going to disappear like Jovanovic, Chapman and Mrcela.
