I invited you to post alternative figures but you didn’t, why not, dont you have any?

Let’s look at what I said:

Last night’s figures were 28,000 so 5 games x 28,000 = 140,000 plus a few more for ONE and that easily puts it in to the lower end of what I said. Add maybe add a few more as some of the games will exceeed that number surely?

So what you posted actually supports what I said originally. So where’s your problem?

I don't think the 140k are unique viewers though Waz. You probably need to discount for some percentage of HAL fans that watch multiple games.

Sure, agree with that. I will normally watch 3 games in a weekend and sometimes all 5, but now junior football has started I struggle to watch one game sometimes.

But equally there are people who won’t watch any games in a weekend because of work or social activities and tune in less frequently. Not everyone who has Fox for soccer tunes in all the time,

1.7m aggreagate attendance and 150,000+ weekend viewing figures are absolute numbers, what makes them up is subject to debate I agree, and they’re certainly not unique individuals, but to get those viewing numbers you often need a bigger pool to draw from not a smaller one

Sorry i thought bluebird answered that for you. But ill repeat what he said. These figures mean little without knowing things such as who is watching and how. Its pretty reasonable to assume that its the same 28k. You cant tell me any different.

Hell if attendance is any correlation id hedge my bets on TABs.

This season is likely the 3rd worst of all time. Now, as much as I'd like to blame Lowy and Gallop for this mess we need to give equal consideration to the smash and grab job AFL lackey Ben Buckley did on us. We would have been in the 100s by now if it weren't for that plant.

Hard to tell because this season, unlike previous, so many games have fallen outside the top 20 pay figures and therefore us plebs mining tweets don't know the figures. But based on what I have, and using the most positive assumptions for the missing games, we're somewhere around 50k, probably below.

I think this season could be a 25% drop on the previous.

I have heard its been over 30%

That 56k south got against sydney fc in the cup looks better and better.

Season 1 average rating was 42k and  Season 6 was 45k so not quite back to square one.  The Season 6 figure was a 16% drop on Season 5 which was a 16% drop on Season 4.  

These figures are from a presentation by the then Fox Sports boss Patrick Delaney to one of those Melbourne Victory business lunch things.

Season 3 - 70k,
Season 4 - 64k,
Season 5 - 54k,
Season 6 - 45k,

Season 13 - around 50k.  My guess.

In a couple of seasons where I have done an average based on published ratings Delaney's figures have been a couple higher than mine.
