I was in a similar boat, which leads me to a Best.

Best: My phone speaker now works, 2 months ago it shit itself and i was left with a phone which wasnt totally useless, i can still use MSN, and Internet on it but the no sound eliminates anyone really ringing me. Today all of a sudden, my phone made a noise, it now works, I dont know how many times I've had missed calls due to it not ringing.
