Today michael plati has come out and said the 98 World Cup draw was fixed so Brazil and France would play each other. Add that to other theories and facts like Korea’s run in 2002, ronaldo poisoning and even Qatar 2022 how likely is it there is a lot behind the scenes that effect the game?

I’m a huge fan I don’t mean to upset anyone with this.

They tried. Any more extra time and they may as well replayed until Sydney won.

Rub the shit off your eyes.

Might of had something to do with Victory's time wasting. Probably played around 90 seconds of football during that 8 minutes.

I don't know what Platini is playing at with this. The draw format for 1998 was made public a year before the tournament, so everyone knew France and Brazil could avoid eachother until a potential final. Besides it's not like it's something new, it happened at every WC from 78 to 94 too. Wasn't a scandal 20 years ago and shouldn't be now.

I believe the draw is “fixed” so that the host nation avoids the strongest countries until the deeper parts of the tournament, assuming both themselves and the other favourites win their respective games and top their groups. In every world cup post-1998, the host and the previous champion have been on opposite sides of the bracket to ensure they meet in the final, although this doesnt end up happening a lot of the time (98 is the only time in the current format that both the host and the world champs have met in the final). As for actual matches, they can do bugger all there. Previous champions have crashed out spectacularly (France 2002, Italy 2010, Spain 2014), and even host nations cannot be pushed all the way (Japan 2002, South Africa 2010, and I suspect Russia 2018 will join them). And other times there are spanners thrown in the works, like surprise packages that make deeper runs and cause upsets (Senegal 2002, Turkey 2002, Ukraine 2006, Ghana 2010, Paraguay 2010, Costa Rica 2014, etc.) throwing the whole thing into disarray by preventing big name matchups.

My concern for this WC is the use of VAR. It is still a person making a decision based on watching a replay and therefore subjective in certain circumstances....... And should they receive prior instructions before the match.......

Have FIFA actually come out and stated what decisions it is to be used for.....and in the case of say ‘penalty claims’ does the onfield ref have to refer the decision to VAR in order for VAR to be involved or can VAR cut in if he reckons it’s a pen even though the onfield ref has waved play on ?

Lee Harvey Oswald and a young Sepp Blatter pre-determined the winners from 1966 onwards. They worked it out in the studio where the moon landing was shot. JFK had to go because he was going to expose to the world the fact that Pele was really a shape shifting alien who had escaped from Area 51.

I was under the impression you didn't watch the A-league anymore due to a boycott. :/

Well, arguing with you is difficult. I'll give you that.

Short of literally going back to watch the match with a stopwatch I stand by what I said. Nearly the entirety of the 8 mins of ET stoppage time was wasted by Victory. There was a very good reason the ref added on another three minutes and you're revealing you're own biases by arguing otherwise.

You forgot about the evidence stored in the World Trade Centre. It was an inside job done to hide the fact that the United states will win the next 3 World cups after this one. Iirc lizard men and fellow 442 forumers joFFA and KA are involved at some point.
