him mentioning pace is an interesting point. he was to bulky and slow for a winger at Victory. clearly he's trimmed down and has reaped the benefits. But I am glad he's made it. i always thought he had the talent.

Nabbout wasn’t picked for the Socceroos while Ange coached them, so I’d say his authority on the subject is limited.

The article has Behich making similar comments as well.
I hope this means we can transition faster on the counter etc...
If we have a good World Cup, you also wonder why BVM isn't retained until after the Asian Cup as well.

IMO they rushed into the Arnie appointment. Also IMO Arnie shouldn't have got the job because he has no credible international coaching experience - but regardless, the FFA should've waited until after the WC to pull the trigger. What if BvM works absolute wonders with the group and then wants to stay on after the WC? Well he can't because we already have...Arnie.

+xAlso known as "Bert please dont cut me" Some people really don't follow football that closely do they. This is what players every time a new coach comes in. Nothing new here.

It is unfortunate, nevertheless we might've been able to change his mind with a decent WC showing. Doesn't matter now though - the only time in 13 years the FFA is proactive is in locking in a national team coach before the previous one had even started...

The things you say to impress the coach whilst getting a 1 up on the other in the cut zone.

Hopefully we r not gonna see every attack starting with Mat Ryan rolling the ball to his closest fullback ad-noseum! Back passing to the keeper from the half way line when going forward is a better option.

Interesting Nabbout mentioning turning quickly and looking over one's shoulder, which I assume implies just before receiving the ball.
If the ball is played and received at diagonal angles, there is less need to look over one's shoulder as far as receiving a straight ball. I assumed that most coaches would be emphasising this much earlier in one's career.
The same with turning quickly.
