+xHymnal Hunt...I love it and so appropriate for a Sunday...BigT...where are all the "confirmations" of Brett Morris signing with the filthy Rorters...go the Sea Eagles today The Mole announced Brett Morris agreed to sign with Easts a couple of days ago on the nine website. Then their coach remarked they haven't signed him, just enquired. But today Sterlo announced that it was confirmed on the telly.

The young player I spoke about a couple months ago Brock Hamill, suffering testicular cancer for the second time, which has spread to his lymph nodes. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help with medical expenses if anyone is interested. Every little bit helps. Over 4k raised of a 20k total.

The club tries its best to keep welfare & education of the players as a high priority but sometimes one just goes astray. Come November, no more kebabs, he'll be lurking around the parks of Bondi & Coogee after dark with Napa & the gang, slurping on raw oysters, saying "yeah nah yeah nah yeah nah" all over the place & frequenting cafes along Oxford street to wash it all down with coffees with froth art chocolate powder chickens wearing sombreros. It's the thought of him reaching under the table to get a $100 note out of a brown paper bag to pay for his new diet that many will find most disturbing.

news changes quickly , apparently the bulldogs have tabled reece martin a offer 2 stay now its up 2 him & his manager sam ayoub 2 sort it out if he will except the offer table 2 him by the dogs , i have heard that a ex bulldogs player in the English super league wants 2 come back for 1 year he is a prolific goal kicker, when he was @ the dogs a few years back i nearly choked on my saliva when i heard his name plays fullback, wing ,& centre anyone wants 2 guess his name ? again he made contact & his asking price is very cheap

If he is on the cheap, definitely someone to consider as a safe bet. He did well at Souths but i assume speed is not his attribute so if we want long range tries, he isnt the answer. But if we dont retain Martin, he might be good as goalkicker

But the jury is out on whether any of those 3 can cement it. Hoppa may also need to switch to fullback if Meaney doesn't work out. I would say at least 1 centre is needed and experience is important. It wouldnt be a bad choice unless they have eyes on someone else for '19 or '20.

Brian Kelly from Manly is a fairly good centre who is off contract... Most of the centres with NRL experience who are off contract a rubbish.... I would be mainly looking at talented lower graders who are blocked from the NRL by higher quality established players.. Roosters, Broncos and Souths are the clubs I would check out first... Even Pom and RU centres might be worth considering Or wait until more quality is available,

Marki, I've honestly never tried Chai. I've seen the term bandied about for years. My hunch always was if it wasn't regular coffee or tea then it'd surely be disgusting, so I've always avoided it. I tried an Asian one once, just once, as it looked like a cross between green bird seed & muesli & tasted revolting. On the recruitment, their excuse in recent times has been poor attack execution. That's why they need one or two of those players that can regularly create a break & run the length of the field to compensate for all the blundering or at least create 2nd-phase play. If they go the snail route again, it'll be more of the same ahead & they miss out on opportunities to sign line-breaker players because they've rushed in & wasted the cap space to get more 'solid' fringe first graders which they already have.

BN we need more pace both to prevent long range tries and score long range tries.... I can't remember a season where we have conceded so many long range tries and not scored many ourselves.... Some of the long range tries we conceded have been vital and have cost us games... both Parra tries were in that category and we don't need to go back far to add to that list... Combine the lack of long range strike with often clunky execution in the opponents 20 .... well that goes a long way to explaining our current position on the table....

Ben '12 is the best example that just one guy like that can make to ladder position. Radradra for Parra is another one. Once he left they dropped down the ladder like a sack of spuds. Just a matter of scouting some out, at least one, doesn't have to be a big name. Having experienced players is important, but it isn't helping if they're doing a lot of the blundering & not creating the 2nd phase stuff.

So Rhyse Martin has signed a 1 year contract with the Dogs..try and backload that one...glad he didn't beat around the bush. I do think Lachie Lewis will be a centre. He is rugged enough..bit more beef would be good.

Having experienced players is important, but it isn't helping if they're doing a lot of the blundering & not creating the 2nd phase stuff. This is a very important post for 2 reasons. It identifies the players that make a huge difference but also the type of players. Barba was an explosive and elusive type of player who would create a break and also support it. Radradra was as power runner who also knew how to support but not as much as Barba who played in middle. Pace is good, but players who go looking for the ball, or know how to support half breaks or second phase play, provide better benefit. One shall only compare the Morris twins for sn example. BMoz would provide more support from the wing than Josh who was 1 man closer to the action. Bmoz was far more effective in using his speed than Josh ever was hence why Bennett never rated JMoz. I put Jimmy the jet in the same JMoz category. He can score from intercept or dropped ball but otherwise can't read play and doesnt really support play well. If its gifted on a platter, like Jmoz he will finish it. But guys like Barba, Holmes, BMoz, Tedesco, Turbo Tom etc have a knack of supporting and turning hslf chances into tries.

Both The Courier Mail and 5th Tackle website say we've signed Kane Elgey - take it as you will I'm just the messenger.
If true, why I don't know. More to the point why if we signed Cogger did we sign Elgey and why if we signed Elgey did we sign Cogger.
Unless.... there's been a certain word on Foran.

Don't rate Elgey myself .. but happy to be proven wrong... Most likely he he insurance for Foran getting an injury... If we signed Cogger to play him in reserve grade .. that is a dumb move.... If Elgey plays really well, or Cogger is below par, then OK, we need to switch tack...

He signed Cogger coz he thought it was the right move at the time. Maybe he has realised he wont be the saviour from what he's seen and with Elgey available he may think Cogger was mistake. I don't mind a coach that is willing to accept his mistake and make amends. Its the pig-headed ones that I don't like.
