+x+x+x+xLooks like Murray has gone for the rest of the season, what a shit situation for APIA, surely A-League clubs should have to let players stay til the end of the season, or maybe the NPL needs to start a month earlier? Either way, Rockdale, United, APIA, Wollongong and Sutherland (that I know of) have lost players to Europe or A-league in the remaining 5 rounds of the competition. I'm hearing a new gaffer for you guys....someone currently plying his trade in npl2......interesting. if true, well done to him, hes worked hard for the chance. wonder what your 20's coach is thinking! Rumor mill is already happening for next season and we are not even up to finals series yet! Hearing Nikas to Rockdale lol Only looking for a bigger pay rise from united wont get it. He wont be at United next year

Melita 30 points or so behind Spartans with them having to play Rangers & NSM in the last 2 games
Fraser cut the points gap to 13 behind Western but Western have a full round in hand against Dunbar tomorrow

Frasers last 3 are St George, hard 3 games, likely loss's. ILions, they should do 18/20's but not likely 1sts. Magic, they'll be lucky to get 1 win. Western and Rage will still be around them, could go to either by end of last round.

Any Olympic fans on here? What's with the rules at Belmore?
No banners or flags of any kind. Complete ban. An Olympic bloke behind me was told he couldnt take his small Olympic flag into the ground. The woman taking tickets at the front seemed to be a relative as she offered to drop it off at his mum's place after the match
Security also made everyone pour out any liquids they had. Lost count of the amount of bemused fans pouring their water bottles out at the entry.
Does Olympic employ its own security or is this imposed by the Bulldogs?

Blacktown have been in some awful form lately. Wouldn't be surprised if you blokes get past them. Nikas looks like he's out for the rest of the season. Seemed to do his knee right at the end of the match.

Olympic employ their own security, i had a chat with the security guard, it's got nothing to do with the bulldogs, it was all instructions from Olympic. On another note - Is APIA vs Sydney United saturday night?

Well done to Olympic. Certainly deserved it.
Amused at the Italian clubs choking. I'm sure APIA missed Jordon Murray however.

Ewwwww Nikas, what great timing - just gone through ACL op having torn my MCL bad in the first place. Well, I really expected APIA grabbing the Minor but yer maybe the Murray absence contributed. Despite Marconi loss first season back finishing 6 not bad overall imo. SU, I see APIA United 6pm Sat night Lambert. Hoping to make it there.

+xSU, I see APIA United 6pm Sat night Lambert. Hoping to make it there. yeah, i havent seen anything official from FNSW or APIA, however our club did confirm. APIA Play Melbourne Victory on Tuesday night, so it was up to them when they wanted to play this fixture. Hopefully they got their eye off the ball this weekend and are already thinking about Victory lol

Interesting bit of trivia, the assistant coach at Blacktown who couldn't understand the failure against Sutherland , as the intensity at training hadn't changed and expected a different result to the previous week and all the rubbish that has been engineered by the decision makers throughout the year, has the nickname Skip. The interview after the game should have gone like this. "What is it Skip?", " tsk, tsk"[ A train crash"], "Where Skip?", tsk, tsk [Blacktown], "Who was driving the train Skip?", Silence.

Kolner, how many clubs in the past decades have spent a motza and not delivered on investment ? buckets loads. Sure you got to wonder why but imo after being relegated and get back up and finish above Manly for eg where they finish last year ? thats worse than Marconi's season back imo. 8points from 3rd, come on. sasha quoting Wolves worse for me.

Went to Marconi a couple of times with the kids ( they like the pizza there ) earlier in the season as a neutral & watched a couple of games. Didn't look that great to be honest.

They play like a standard Tsekinis team. Was interesting to read his post-match comments. He threw his entire squad under the bus.

agree that there have been plenty of clubs who have spent up big and achieved little.
that said, everyone knows Marconi have had an open cheque book for 2018.
Wollongong I agree have underachieved. 2 quality jap boys (not always used), Montgomery, wilkshire, to name others. I just think not as much of an underachievement as Marconi.
realistically:
Olympic- overachieved, decent team but to finish first was a big achievement apia- expected united- expected blacktown- probably had hopes of finishing higher rockdale- same as blacktown Marconi- underachieved hakaoh- for me overachieved given their squad manly- underachieved given defending premiers and same squad bonno- squad wasn't the best, but could of finished higher, the imports they had were decent, ray miller is a decent player, Peterson, diaz etc sutho- mass changes in off season, and had quality there, even if not enough deoth, tratt, olsen, da silva, are decent players. syd fc- expected with a young squad.

Now thats a better summary on all but I'm still going with coming back from PL2 its not that bad but last weeks loss compounded the end result. I still reckon Manly's season was far worse being defending prems, Wolves and Sutho wouldn't be pleased seeing an old club back finishing above them as well no matter the dollar diff. On the larger scale you don't see any Championship sides finishing ever near the top 4 all my years following EPL for eg and prior. Anyway other than that what a close season in any case, not alot in it and yes congrats to SO !

Was a great effort to win it without his presence.
