“Adam Le Fondre has been given permission by Bolton Wanderers Football Club to speak with a club overseas regarding a possible transfer after being presented with an “opportunity of a lifetime”.

Seems strange hearing a European player relating signing with Sydney FC as an “opportunity of a lifetime”.

Looks decent but surely it can't be a marquee on a 3 year deal?

It has to be the Adrian wage with a new AM/RW to come as marquee.

His wage demand would probably be just shy of a million. It is possible it will go under the cap. I suspect he will be consistent with his goal scoring.

If Corica can pick up a really good AM now then this could be a very good move.
I was a fan of Bobo and his goal scoring record speaks for itself but if you had have asked me who I would keep out of Ninkovic, Adrian and Bobo it would have been Adrian and Ninkovic.
Adrian as an in cap player was always going to be the harder to replace, so if you can get a Bobo level finisher in cap then replacing Adrian becomes a lot easier.

In the past maybe but no so much in his later years, he could kill it in the A-League I guess but only time will tell.

Just looking at his stats, my instant reaction is really positive.  He isn't a superstar but solid scoring stats at all levels, not as good as a few years ago but hes only 31 and still performing well at championship level.  Should do really well.

0.37 goals per 90mins last season for bolton seems pretty good (2 of them pens).  It looks much better when you see how poorly bolton did, and that he was their top scorer with 7.  If this looks like happening ill go looking for video of him but first glance he seems like a quality goal scorer.

Why didn’t SFC (or anybody) look at R McCormack, provided his wage demand wasn’t too high?

Why didn’t SFC (or anybody) look at R McCormack, provided his wage demand wasn’t too high?

Those charged with balancing the books at B6 have been exploring ways to get McCormack off the books.
The striker has two years remaining on the lucrative four-year deal he signed at Villa.

Adam Le Fondre had been rumoured to have been negotiating with Central Coast for the last 6 months.
Gutted to miss out on both him and Ibini in the last few days
We're a whisker away from a competitive team this year, These guys would have really helped.
Nabbing O'neill from Burnley is a small consolation but being snubbed by this guy, only for him to sign for Sydney, feels like a kick in the guts.
