I think its got to the point where A-League teams don't want to face NPL teams any more, which is great.
Open up the draw next FFA Cup, don't rig it.

+x@ PricklePear 6,151 for Roar/City in the Cup. Sorry I meant the HAL game that was played in Cairns a while ago vs Nix I think EDIT: Was 5,162 @ Cazalys Stadium So 4k for a week night at a 'worse' stadium is good imo

Ah yes, about 5,500 from memory.
Mistake playing a game in Cairns at 4PM in summer mind you.

Round of 32/16 is definitely a 50/50 proposition when it’s npl v A league, some have managed to get out of trouble at the death but inevitably that luck would run out.

+xSydney winning by one goal margins with set-pieces doesnt change whether its A-League or NPL If you're going to try to bantz then you could at least pick at something with a semblance of accuracy, like our shit crowds.

Kind of seems inexcusable to lose against part timers, but I suppose anything's possible with fit players and a system.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Best thing about results like this with part timers beating pros and taking them to extra time in other games is that it’s only gonna grow the calls for a 2nd tier.

Also belief in yourself and your team mates, these types of games are huge for young players as well because A-League teams will be watching and maybe sign them up. That Sekiya kid for Tigers will get a call up, guarantee.

Its been a few months, but it still never ceases to amaze me that Archie Thompson has managed to become a pundit. The bloke is completely incapable of speaking English properly.

MV didn't really look like doing much at the end. Good for APIA, deserved it from the small bits I saw. Troisi with about as much urgency as a slug

+xKind of seems inexcusable to lose against part timers, but I suppose anything's possible with fit players and a system. That the A-League teams are in pre-season still, whilst NPL teams are the opposite, clearly makes a big difference. As someone said earlier, most upsets have taken place in the rd of 32. Actually, is this the first time an A-League team have been knocked out in the rd of 16?

Can't help but cringe when they keep calling Victory the champions. Its technically true but they've hardly shown excellent form at any point in the past 12 months besides a few dogged defensive performances in the finals.

Queensland Lions took Perth Glory to extra time and lost 1-0 in the Round of 16 in 2015 but all other Round of 16 matches have been won by A League teams in the 90 minutes. In a 2017 Quarter Final Blacktown City lost to WSW 4-2 on penalties, drawing 2-2 after extra time.

Seriously?
One slot left, searching Europe for a visa, marquee DM ... and you’d swop that?
